Ahh well, I'll probably buy it anyway. Looks better laid out than the actual Evo rulebooks, which are quite boring really.

As you say, I'd buy it and give it to a print shop. Luckily, there is a cheap one at Uni, specifically for the art students...  :)

Not saying it is your responsibility.

Lets just say my experiences with MGP haven't been quite so silver lined as some others.

One more thing!

I can NOT take the credit for painting the Cavalry and infantry.
I bought them years ago (IIRC via a PM here on the forum) from someone, unfortunately I can't remember from whom...
 :'(
So if the unknown painter recognizes his work, please sent me PM and I will credit you properly!

I painted the Brits years ago. Agis' excellent photography and setting has done them a great service. Old Glory can be a real hit and miss, but I the Colonial range is one of their better ones. Not the easiest figures to get a decent paint job from. I think it has a lot to do with a painter's style. I like painting the OG figures, but  it takes time getting used to them. Oddly I really don't like painting Perry Figures, beautiful sculpts but just don't suit the way I paint.

If I had the money/time I'd jump at this. Very cool indeed.

No you're not.

I agree these look pretty good at this distance - which just goes to show that a decent paintjob goes a very long way.
But don't be seduced! I've bought three bags of OG troops (from three different ranges), and on all three occasions, the quality of the anatomy, sculpting and casting was so bad that out of each bag of 30 miniatures, I ended up using a mere handful which were good enough to pass muster and getting rid of the rest. In short, sorry, but I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole any more. I know some people like them, and I'm sure there are some good figures amongst what is a vast range. But generally, the quality is a long way behind the likes of Copplestone and most other current designers and manufacturers

The only order I've ever made from OG are Mahdists, and I was very pleased with them. Have a look at my second entry for the LPL (the mass of warriors) for a closer look (although, not a great photo). They seems to be very hit-and-miss.
I told you so. You damned fools.

A lot of OG 25/28mm from what I've seen is less then good, however OG 15's are quite good with a special mention to their ACW which is very good.

The Back of Beyond title is a working title, I am not sure if I may get into any copyright issues by doing so...

You won't.  "Back of beyond" is an expression coined by Sir Walter Scott.

Beautiful work, by the way. ;)
