Dan, I really like "The Dog's Bollocks". Great little design, simple, nice and open. I like how you did the sails as well. I've been using a single central eye hook to suspend my sails and my yards tend to lean to one side or the other. Using 4 eye hooks as you are doing looks a lot more straight and level. I wish I had thought of that. Plus the 1st pic really shows what a nice job you did painting the wood.

Hey thanks, going from memory the sails were made from an old hankerchief soaked in PVA (I think) . there is a top rail made from thin dowel into which are screwed two eyes. the bottom two eyes were just glued into the corners of the material with a bit of thin thread keeping them from pulling apart. It seems to hold together just because of the stiffness of the sail. The wooden hull was just made from strips of card which helpfully made the paint rather streaky.
Like I said before it was just made for a fun game and I would be embarressed to use it for a serious game in public.

This is like the GOAT thread!  (if you are into ships, at least)

they all look great.  never would have guessed that Playmobile conversion, that is well done.

I like the look of some of those Old Glory ships (in 15mm).  A bit cheaper than Thouroughbreds.
