My latest book on the Winter War arrived yesterday and I can't wait to read it!  :)

This book is highly recommended over " A Frozen Hell".

Hi Folks, My lastest book that covers the Winter War as well by Osprey. I've been behind the times in purchasing this book.

Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in the Finns during the war. There are some excellent colour plates covering the Winter War troops which will assist when I'm looking at the paints to use.

I've also placed a link to the Axis forum where one of the co-authors has a little word as well along with other folk.

Moving house and then coming down with the flu has put a hold on my project for a little while anyway.

I'm now writing up my order for the next lot of BAM Finns I need to continue with my project. Si from BAM has made some fur hats availabe too me for conversions plus I've requested an additional set of Finnish anti-tank crew. Just ask the lovely folk at BAM if you need some of the fur hats yourself :)

Well, at least the move is done, then - that's usually one big hassle. :?
Anyway - get well - and hope to see your Finns soon too.  :)

Excellent project :)

I would vividly recommend trying to get "Talvisota" (Finnish film set in the Winter War). It has lots of T26´s in working order! :D

By the way, that book ("The White Death"): it´s about the Finnish sniper (Simo Häyhä) is it not? That was his nickname. He is the most successful sniper in history with 705 confirmed kills.

We have discussed this film in some other threads, recently. That T26 charge is quite cool.

If you check page 5 in this thread you'll find taht there is a new movie comming out in december about the battle of Tali-Ihantala 1944. I am really looking forward to that one eventhough I am sure it is cruelly realistic.

I'm slightly worried it won't cover any new ground though. We've seen plenty of Finnish movies almost all of which are about the infantry. I'd love to see some of their more estoric units get films of their own.
