Salma Hayek, sigh, my perfct woman :D

She's looking great, you've combined all her perfect assets into one miniature ;D

But given her the face of Charles Hawtrey. IMO this makes the figure even more useful, there's a host of Carry On Films waiting to be gamed.

So that's who Selma Hayek is  8)

Not one of Bart Simpson's aunties after all  lol

Excuse my ignorance chaps, but I must be about the worst celebrity spotter I know - still, I can live with that  :D

Well old boy, if you invite comparison......  To me the facial features are more Mr Hawtrey than Ms Hayek and your little montage seems to conform that. Fear not Bob Murch, who is a professional sculptor makes all his female subjects look like circus strongmen or Jack Lemmon  in Some like it Hot.

Likewise, if you solicit commentary in public, there is little point in getting po faced if the commentary you solicit isn't all of the adoring kind. Bit like enering a beauty contest and getting all huffy cos you don't  finish in the top three.

For what it's worth I couldn't sculpt anything close to that and you are to be commended on your efforts. Alas my only constructive criticism would be along the lines of: Nice, if somewhat stylistically OTT body, pity about the face. Any chance you could make it look less like Charles Hawtrey?

Sorry if you feel put out. Wasn't my intent to cause distress.

What about Kirsty  ???  ???  ???

I think the sculpt is fine  :) although I would bring the hair line down just a touch and reduce the nose slightly and then it'll be great  :)

Looking at the original photo, I assume she's got one foot forward and twisting her hips slightly?

cheers

I agree the nose seems a bit too long, which throws off the likeness. The body is really well done and an interesting pose I haven't seen much before.

Now you can either chalk it up to learning and start your next sculpt, trying to improve using the things you learned with this one, or go back to rework the face a bit, possibly getting frustrated because the reworked version looks less like what you want. There is no right choice.  ;)

Well I think it's pretty good. SI is always exploring his limits with sculpting and I think that's great. Not an exact likeness, but at least it looks female :)

I would suggest making the head a little smaller.

Keep at it SI, and get some paint on her.

SI - didn't mean to compare your sculpting to a Simpson's character, I REALLY had no idea who Selma Hayuk was (though I realise now that by mentioning this fact, I may be in danger of offending both you and Nick) the only Selma I was currently aware of was Marge's sister Selma.  :o

I wouldn't get too upset over your sculpting if I were you, I think it's pretty good. Matching anyone's features in 28mm (ish) is no easy task, but she is clearly a young woman, nicely posed, a task some professional sculptors fall short of acheiving. How often have we seen "ladies" that look like blokes sporting a pair of carefully positioned grapefruit?  lol

Any-road-up, well done and keep up the progress.

Selma who?  ;)

I should think faces would be the hardest part, frankly.  The head does seem a bit big, although painted it might look right.  Overall, a solid effort.

Not to be a jerk...  but...
It looks like the head is kinda outta proportion from the rest of the body...
Just sayin'...

Other than that, I think its a good looking sculpt.
