One question that I thought of after looking at some of your postings, Rich is...

Do you think the 2nd Ed. will make .45 more or less compatible with FW and others?
In reality, there aren't too many differences, but sometimes things like weapons, Grade Levels (G1/2 for instance) and some abilities are different enough between the two to cause some fiddling or thought in order to make sense.
Will it now be easier to cross elements over?

The rules between the systems will be different for now. Eventually, however, it will be easier to cross over between them. Marc has already begun scribbling some ideas for crossing FW archetypes to .45 Adventure 2nd.

I do kinda feel broadsword is a bit of the redheaded stepchild of the range, well that's a little unfair but it doesn't seem quite as popular as FW.

Then again magic/rituals/powers and a creature builder would easily slide into the horror section so all that would really be needed would be some historical archetypes and weapons for time traveling pulp adventure.

That would give everything that would be needed for fantasy, and open up the crossdimentional/timetravel aspects fairly easily.

I think Broadsword will slip easier into use than Fantastic Worlds with the new system. The simple reason that most of the fantasy type elements will fit horror and close combat will be covered. Fantastic Worlds science is more stable than pulp science and so will be a bit tougher to balance right.

And see, I am more of a fantasy over sci fi gamer (though 20s/30s adventures still reside at the top for me). I think Broadsword is the tightest of the current rule sets since it had the benefit of all the others before it. But fantasy is a tougher nut to crack with players for some reason. I guess if there was someone besides me promoting it online, it might get more play. Fantastic Worlds has the benefit of Marc and Froggy talking it up.

Such is the life of a small publisher. Too many games, not enough time. :D

That's sorta the life us players have...but we pay to play, you get paid because we play :)

And there I was just wondering the other night, why all had been quiet on this front for quite a while!

We'll be all settled in with lots of space for gaming when this comes out  :D

I have been having a break from painting and catching up with developements on the 2nd Ed over on the Speakeasy

I must say things are looking mighty impressive, I foresee a return of Pulp action to OHQ in the new year.

Must get back to work.

Sorry if I'm asking something already said, do you have a specific release date?

I am not tying to a specific release date because a lot depends on the printer. Delays could push things around and I don't want to commit to a certain day.

Specifics? He took it down from 365 days to knowing it will be one of 31 days. :-)
