Minenraumer - big vehicle for VSF, Pulp, SF or WWWII ?
« on: August 15, 2010, 10:05:45 AM »
Recently obtained this 1/35 scale kit of a 1943 Minenraumer.

My first thoughts were that it might be suitable for VSF.

Haven't started construction yet, as VSF isn't a high priority this month.

Boxart:

Contents with em4 28mm figure for scale :

Apologies for poor pictures and reflections etc.

After drawing a blank at Hannant's, I googled.  Looks like you were lucky to get this, Fastrolfus:

Don't you just love independant model shops  :D I think Comet Minatures might be worth a look, it's only 15mins from work on the bus  :)

Quarter Kit does one in 1/48 which goes well with heroic 28s.  I got myself one and it clears up those pesky zombie infestations pretty well.  I did a little write up for it on how I use it in my gaming.  I do have to admit, it is not painted yet to my shame!

A true zombie street sweeper of sorts.  Oh, and it does well in mine fields too,

I've been looking for something to base my Ork Battlewagon on and I think I've just found it.  :-*

I dunno Brian....
I think I like the 1/35 scale idea better....  Makes it look more 'Hulking" or "Fear Inducing Behemoth" on the battlefield if it is BIGGER than normal!

At 1/35 you could get away with putting a 1/48 Panther or King Tiger turret on it and have it look to scale.  Now a mine rammer with a 75 or 88 would be something else!

That is a monster - can't wait to see what you do with it.

I located a paper model in 1:25 scale.

I love this model. I bought it thinking of getting into the Quar stuff. Then I kinda cooled off on that and just let it sit. Then I thought about VSF and something along that line. I was/am still undecided. Then I look at it from a sci-fi angle and try to figure how to make something  unique. I have some thoughts .....I just need to get my hobby room back in order and work it out (we just bought a new home and need to move in). I love this model though.

Had a thought, and wondered what other unusual subjects this company might have.

A bit of web searching found this twin turret Vickers :

unfortunately out of stock, although if the price was genuinely just £6.08 I'm not surprised, at that price it would be a good one for conversion.
They also do a twin turreted T26A, but (from the box art) it doesn't look as "clunky" as the Vickers.

They do have a XT-7 Rotkappchen artillery piece at £5.05 :
