Hi folks,
as previously noted in the "latest vehicle received" thread, today, I got my 1/60th scale Wolverine kit from Ravenstar Studios. Excellent service, very friendly and prompt in answering enquiries, and only 3 1/2 weeks delivery time across the pond. The model is great, too, not only in size, but also in proportion, casting quality (although there are some rough spots, easily rectified), and, most of all, the concept and layout of the parts. Lugs and holes match up nicely and snugly, which is particularly good with the arms - although I'll add magnets to the shoulder joints later on, should they come loose.

Some of you may remember
my older ventures into 28mm Battletech. Since those mechs all have now gone to new homes, I won't be doing it on a large scale anymore. I'll paint up the Wolverine, and may build a Locust just because I love the design. More importantly, I've got more than a platoon's worth of Kurita Infantry which I'll finally get to paint up. Hopefully.

I may start painting over the course of the weekend, and would value some input considering paint schemes. I want to do it as a Draconis Combine mech, and am currently partial to either
1) a single-tone blood/rusty red or NATO olive paintjob, with detail parts picked out in dark gunmetal or steel, plus numerals and some warning stripes; or
2) a "multi-purpose rural" scheme, that is a multi-tone camouflage scheme that would work both with temperate and woodland/jungle settings; or
3) a "whitewashed" version of either the single- or multi-tone schemes to go for a winter, or cold climate setting - this would be nice since a friend of mine in Germany already as a platoon of GZG Scandinavians done as Rasalhague troops. A variant of that could be that of the "Galedon Regulars":

which I really like. A bit involved and requiring masking and spraying, but manageable, I guess.
Any suggestions are welcome, although I would prefer not to do a "desert camo" scheme this time, and full-blown "heraldic" schemes of bright primary colours are a no-go, too.
