I've put a hold on my factory unit after my original plans made it nearly 2'X3'. FAR too big for my table although I may come back to it.....
Anyhow, as a "filler" for my street I thought I'd put together a small workshop. It isn't really based on anything historical but I think it has a Victorian "Feel". There is a shop on the right to blend in with my other ones. I'm not too sure about the large doors as the building isn't that deep.

I was thinking possibly an "Automoton" repair shop......

Cyril, - Exceptional work, up to your usual magnificent standards.

The double doors look fine to me.

More than works for me. Doors/gates were often put into archways that led into inner courtyards etc. so the building does not have to be deep.

Another great addition PM. Where is the blue foam from? I have only ever seen it in stupidly small pieces or with p&p I don't like.

Looks good PM

. Nice and thin with a bit of height gives it that Victorian look. It'll fit in well with the rest of the collection.

The girder above the upper service door is a nice touch. Not sure if you've got your eye on any pulley systems but you can find some at Langley Models, got a few from them myself.

Now, if you're reading this you it means you're not at your workbench, back you go!

P.S The factory project sounds rather grand.

Looking really nice, and I'd back Svenn in saying that the answer is to build a courtyard (with an open fronted outbuilding?) for out the back.

Its simple but has personality, you can use it to fill out your table indeed. It wont take away from the looks of the table but doesn't distract from the more centrepiece parts.

They're fine IMHO. It's for gaming so these buildings are more representation than scale engineering eh?

Horse drawn vehicles might need access to load up, so looks perfect for that, plus I've seen similar before... there's even one archway just around the corner from me which is probably shallower.

Where you getting this blue foam from?

I think I agree with everyone here - it looks fantastic! The double doors are perfect, and as Red Orc suggests, you could simply have a yard at the back that they lead into, which would look cool. I love the girder over that high window, I love the rooves, which look fantastic, the shop - as always - looks superb, but I have to say, one of my favourite bits is the chimney! It's incredibly well done, and gives it that certain 'something'. This is going to be another fantastic building, and I can't wait to see it alongside the other buildings you've done. Great work! Oh, and I like the idea of an automaton workshop. In fact, if you're looking for possible 'Walker' models, there are a couple in the Warmachine range that would look great - check out the Heavy Warjacks in the Khador, Cygnar, and Mercenary factions. There are a few that would be perfect, particularly painted up in your (patent pending) black and gold colour scheme.

After another long gap in modelling caused by the "real world" ( work stuff this time!!!) I finally finished my smal Victorian workshop.
I decided to go for an automoton repair shopwith a retailer of "Domestic Automotons" attached.

This one isn't lit but I added a little detail to the shop interior in the form of an automoton "Butler"

I also did this poster but thought it looked a little too modern
