Turns out it's not a swamp, it's a small lake... it's just very crowded.

It's the twin lake of Lake Placid...Lake Rancid.

The latest digression is a Witch/Sorcerer Frog inspired/stolen from Caroline McFarland-Watts' Tall Tales Production; a frog in a witch's hat:

The frog is a little plastic thing I got from Michael's. The hat & frog face are mine.

I like frogs.
I like witches.
A frog witch in a hat? Yes please.
Its a cutie patootie.  I want one badly.
This might inspire me to sculpt my own frog witch in a hat.
Cheers,
Mar

How adorably benign!

(probably a trap then)

Thanks for the kind reply, Mars Miniatures. I am happy you like the frog; I started blocking out the colors on him/her...there is potential there.
Witches & frogs are favorites with me also...especially the Witches. You should check out Tall Tales Productions. Caroline McFarland-Watts' creations are inspiring...she like witches & frogs.

It is the cute, innocent ones you have to watch out for.
I am happy you like him/her/whatever thus far, Fram.

The Swamp House now is sporting check curtains...tres chic:

The Frog Sorcerer is just about ready for a base barring a touchup or two:

Until whenever.

How very expressive eyes for the Frog Sorcerer!
And chick checker curtains for the Swamp House!
But what drives me crazy always, is the device of the door lock mechanism!  :-* Love it!

Thanks for the kind reply, Dinos. The Frog has been fun making & painting. I am glad you enjoyed him. The basing will make the mini I am sure.
The clockwork doors are at times frustrating to do, but I have been happy with the results. Having you concur makes it worth the effort.

You are a WONDERFUL source of motivation, my dear friend.
There will be quite a lot of clockwork thingies coming up. I do like the look; AND, typically, I amassed quite a stockpile of clock parts that I need to justify purchasing.

A question - I noticed you painted the curtains before the, uh, inhabitants behind them - do you find this easier?

It is about the same. I knew what colors I was going to do the curtains, but I haven't decided on the faces.

House is coming along nicely! Dinos is right about how cool the clockwork looks!

Love the frog sorcerer! Looks like you imported some of the mushroom graduated color technique to his fantastic hat. The shining eyes are wonderful.

Thanks, Bret. I am glad you love The Frog. He was one of a three frog pack; I still have another one that was going to serve as a before & after piece, but now I have started thinking about what I can do with him/her/it.
The house is getting some attention today. I have it glued down on a 6' wooden circle, added a little hummock, & I have started adding marsh grass/reeds. Depending on how long my energy lasts, I may manage to get down the water puttying. I am really excited about what modeling opportunities The Swamp offers.
