That looks spot on to me, mate.
 :)

I love the angles, bet they were a bit of a bugger to work out when doing the initial cuts.
 :-* :-*

Making them in smaller sections and modular would also allow you to use them in different configurations too.
 8) ;)

Cheers mate.  I'd already thought long and hard about the door (I actually had a previous scratch built door cast up, but this one is better i think). The shape of the corridors relates to the shape/angle/proportion of the door, so once you've got that, the rest just looks right.

Not sure whether I'll keep it as separate components - it's certainly easier to make that way, but I'll probably assemble them on larger boards.

I love that door mate! :-* Are you going to put some sort of texture on the floor?

Thanks Andy. Yes, I need to add some treading flooring on, just need to find where I've put the relevant plasticard... might need to shave a mm off the bottom of the door once I'm done.

Really evokes a battlestar's corridors :-* Can't wait to see it painted in the foreboding grey they used. The door is spot on.

Just started re-watching the entire series to get in the right mood for following this project.  :D

Made a bit more progress today...started on the next section, which will have a couple of rooms coming off of it.

Am moving the test door around to ensure a proper fit - will then get it cast up.

Brilliant stuff mate! That's the biz! :-*

Have you thought of putting pipes along the length of the corridors? Put them right at the bottom, in the crook between the wall and floor. You can't fit models in there anyway. You could even use cast stuff in there. Something like the Hirst Arts chemical plant set might work?......

Ordinarily I would, but the "regular" corridors in BSG don't tend to have piping, and this particular bit of corridor is based upon the actual sets, whereas my flight pod is more of a compromise.  Some of the "auxiliary" type corridors around engineering are likely to have more piping etc.

Once I've finished sealing everything from the "rear" side of the model, and then primed it, the joins between walls and floor shouldn't be evident.

Instead of piping, the dead spaces in the corridors tend to be full of stowage, or as things begin to deteriorate ..... trash etc so if there are any untidy bits, I can always camouflage them later.

Have managed to finish the intersection this afternoon, and glued the first two parts together.

The interesting thing about the Galactica sets is that the corridors have plenty of variety, and blend together - I've found a number of different styles, and their usage at times, appears almost random, as if the ship was modified over a period of time (which may well be the intention).

The intersection is intentionally a bit wider than you'd find onboard the Galactica, as while I want to follow the style, I also need a gameable space .... plus of course I'm making a different ship, so I'll allow myself a little leeway

 ;)

Just needs sealing, a bit of minor tidying up, and then priming.  Once painted, I'll add a bunch of stowage, as every inch of the ship is crammed with people and supplies.

Fair enough mate. In all honesty I couldn't quite remember exactly how they looked, I was only thinking it might look more starshippy type thing. Probably find they had a budget and couldn't afford extra scenery set stuff on the program! :?

Maybe...perhaps they spent their budget on the cgi cylons, and Tricia Helfer's outfits.

 :D

In the show, the wall panels are access points, behind which a lot of the cabling, pipes etc can be found - again, might have been intentional as part of the look, or a plot device to make the sets easier to construct.

Please tell me that it is this that you intend to bring to BLAM?
 :D

Oh ok then....

I don't think we can count them spending a LOT of money on Tricia Helfer's outfits.......there wasn't really a lot to them!........thankfully! :D
