Medieval village (20mm)

Scratch built from polstyrene pakett underlay and wood glue. Based on individual blocks in a system of the biggest having 1/3rd the length of the next smallest and so on, so that they can be endlessly re-arranged and added to for different scenarios.

Maybe it's just because it's Monday and my brain is still in weekend mode, but I'm having trouble picturing the sizes/proportions of your bases.

Any chance of a top-down picture of part of your village, or a quickie diagram of the system you use?

The photos look great, you can practically smell the pigs. (and the people!)

Youīre right, Itīs monday and my brain is in sleep mode as well. Iīll have to get an overhead  pic together. I was going to try and explain but after putting the three basic module sizes next to each other my brain overloaded and I couldnīt find the words to explain

Hereīs a top down pic for ya Wirelizard 
The town square in the middle is the biggest section (apart from the castle). The houses to the left and right have the base ( horizontal) 1/3rd smaller than the length. The road in the middle is 1/3rd the total width of the town square and the circular hut (right of castle) is 1/3rd smaller on both side than the town square. The bridge and watermill sections are the same size as the town square but the river sections are 1/3rd longer.
There is no exact size (well, I havent actually measured them with inches or cmīs) but it works fine...all the pieces fit up against the ohters and with one more house section the whole thing forms a perfect square.....
and no...I donīt do Origami

Amazing work and great to see something as big as the castle completed with hand drawn on bricks.  What kind of foam core did you use for those castle walls?

The castle walls are made up as a "sandwhich" of different polystyrene sheets. The outer wall is Pakett underlay (blue)..back to back, the walkway a sheet of 2cm packing sheeting (white ) and the internal side again with the blue underlay. I had to do it this way as I was going to use a big thick sheet of wall insulation but cutting the walkways into it proved very difficult.
