Well, Br Bickleigh, the last time I came to you for help I ended up buying two Indian Mutiny armies.  Trevor Dixon said to thank you for that.

My computer keeps kicking Monolith out as having an issue with a malicious cookie.

Does anyone know how these would sit next to 1st Corps range, scale-wise?

I have some 1st Corps and am finding Malamute's New Orleans Greys exceedingly tempting!

I don't have any of the 1st Corps figures, but I would expect them to come up slightly shorter being older castings, they are probably not the large 28s we have today.

Any idea why there was a shift from 25mm, to 28 to "large 28". Is it a case of an aging population...?

Actually the 1st corps Mex/Am war range is of a pretty good size. The cavalry I had were at least lg 28s about the same size as my Front Rank Napoleonics. The infantry,if I remember right ,were more like true 28s  but still not that small.I sold them at a  Historicon this summer.I didn't like the sculpting style.

If it turns out there is just a slight difference use the cardstock under the figures base idea.I was always a bit skeptical but I used it for the first time this morning and, when there is only a small height variance, it actually works quite well.

I used to be a bit of a size/scale nazi but trying to do VSF with so many different manufacturers has made me become much more lenient.I now happily mix Front Rank,Perry,Foundry,Artizan ,Mutineer ,Great War and what ever else I need.
Size differences in a comparison pic are very different from how they look on the tabletop, especially from 2 feet away ;)
