LOTOW WITH 54mm?
« on: 21 October 2011, 08:47:04 AM »
I am new here, in this forum. I want to ask if someone ever played Legends of the Old West with miniatures of the range of 54mm. Is it so simple as to double every distance? I ask because I have some Timpo toy soldiers out of action for many many years now (I am at the age of 40+) and it would be nice to see them active again.

I'd say go for it, I do WWII in 54mm, and it is great fun, and as I get older, and my eyes get worse, I find them easier to paint as well. Buildings and terrain can be hard work, but it looks great when all done. There are plenty of reasonably priced bits on e bay if you need to top up. It can be really rewarding and at skirmish level is hard to beat.
They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious!!

:)Thanks a lot for your replies and you support. Your miniatures are amazing!
I had something less impressive in my mind. Something like my old Timpo toy
soldiers (cowboys, outlaws, apaches and banditos):

Just be careful not to break any of that Timo, they are worth a fair price these days and can sell for £80 each!
Old Deetail are a much safer bet!!
