FYI (if anyone cares) I ordered Song of Blades and Heroes from LuLu (as well as the Dungeon supplement.  Hope I like them and they work :).

Perhaps too late, but I would highly recomend ARES by mj12 games.
Fast, adaptable, generic.  you can do anything you want with it and it handles it all.

Barbarians vs. undead, Musketeers vs. Beholders, Mammoths vs. Dwarves, all no problem.

We've even adapted it to Wild West Skirmish and Sci-Fi games with no issues.

As a LOTOW fan looking for a Fantasy game I thought you may find that handy.


Battle Companies is a really nice set - I/we base all our LotR-gaming on that. We get to play, then reinforce our company, thus getting more and more minis painted as we go along.
