The Heart of Darkness
« on: 27 February 2012, 05:47:42 PM »
A Black Powder Darkest Africa game played here in GHQ this afternoon, in which the warriors of Chief Bykelezi m'Tubi were suitably chastised by Robinson of the River...

Not even the Maiden Guard could save the day for the hapless Chief...

More photos and a bit of a write up over on my Blog...

Not the Joseph Conrad novel, then?  :'(

Nice looking game.  This DA stuff is having quite a resurgence of late.  :D

Nonsense! It never went away.  :)

Bykelezi is a grand name in the Bickley tradition, and by the living Jingo we get some bare arses too. Most excellent value from a single post.  lol

Would never have occurred to me to use Black Powder for DA. Might have to give that a go.

Nice looking game.  Really like the use of Blackpowder.  I have been using aspects of it in my Fire and Fury games.

Nice eye candy and AAR. I got to get me some Sikhs one of these days.

sweet looking game!
I'm planning on using BP for DA/colonial fantasy.Friends have told me BP didn't work well for Zulu war as it was a bit one sided and its hard to find the right adjustment to make it fair as one side or the other is too powerful.
But I will have Europeans and natives on both sides so I'm hoping it will work itself out.

Interesting BP scenario...

I want to try Sharp Practice and some mates of mine played a couple of Zulu War scenarios using Ambush Alley. I like the AA/FoF system as it works very nicely for small skirmishes.

We're trying BP for Colonials (NWF/Sudan etc) now. I'm not sure how it would work for Explorers etc though
