RAFM Call of Cthulhu miniatures, scale help.
« on: April 26, 2012, 08:35:28 PM »
Anyone with the RAFM Call of Cthulhu minis?

How do the 'humans' scale up against modern ranges (ie Hasslefree, etc)

The monsters are fine, but I'd really like some of the people (especially the 'three stage' ones)  I get the impression that they are rather small.

Pics would be fantastic!

Any of these, in Particular:

Thanks!

They are indeed rather small. No Hasslefree in the picture, but maybe some other usefull reference

They are a little small next to Copplestone, and to a lesser extent Westwind, Foundry and Blue Moon, but I still think they look great.
I don't own any Hasslefree, but it's my understanding they generally run a little small as well.

I really enjoy the RAFM line and I have a number of the figures.

I do believe they are roughly "real 25mm scale" so yes, they are small. Can't compare with Hasslefree but I can do Heresy, Urban Mammoth and other "real 28mm" ranges. I'm not entirely sure if I have any real humans in sensible postures from the RAFM range but if I do, I'll try and take a comparison shot in the weekend and post them on monday - I'm a few behind I've promised to upload anyway (because my flash card reader went bust so I can't get the pix off the camera).

I posted one comparison pic here ages ago. It has one Hasslefree miniature as well, although that pick isn't particularly easy to compare.

Anyway, old Grenadier (Mirliton), RAFM, Citadel and Metal Magic (eM-4) are from the more modest end of scale. Artizan and Hasslefree may be a little bit taller but still well compatible, at least in my opinion. Copplestone is significantly larger.

Nowadays I have a lot more stuff from numerous manufacturers around the world. I should take another pic soon, but somehow the schedules have been outright hostile against everything hobby-related for several months in a row. We'll see...

They look perfect compared to most other modern ranges (Artizan, Coppelstone, etc...)  They were sculpted by Bob who does the Pulp mini range and appear to be consistant with the size of his current models.

I know it's been asked here before, might be worth browsing through the older posts...

Here's a scale shot I took in response to one of the older queries:

Thank you all, very helpful..

Too bad more mini makers don't do that three stage character.  I've always loved that idea.
