Could this be the reason for the plethora of carts?

"If your going to 'Partizan' in Newark (Nottinghamshire...UK!) on sunday come and say hello as we're putting on a War of the Roses game there. It's loosely based on Margret of Anjou's flight to the coast and hence France after the Battle/rout of Hexham in 1464".

I think we all know about women and luggage :)

The leftover sprues that haven't already been shaved, or dissolved, can be used to make shoe boxes presumably...  ;)

More Italians to come reading Michael's post on TMP

"This is the first of this month's releases (the rest will be shown shortly). These are the first three codes for the Italian armies of the mid-to-late 15th Century. With these, there were some subtle differences in clothing/armor that can be mixed with the current plastic-and-metal codes to produce an accurate army. The open-faced barbuta were more common than the visored sallet, so there are a fair few of the them in these and the following releases. Hukes (or short, sleeveless tabards, often belted at the front) are also often seen in Italian images, as well as particular styles of hat. Specific Italian troop types will also be covered".

I love these new carts. I always wanted to make a baggage train and now I'm having to persuade myself not to...  o_o

Yeah, some sword and buckler foot would be nice, but I'd really like some mounted archers too.

Those miniatures sound great. Because of those Italians, I might even be inspired to do something with Assassin's Creed mini's... That is, if I can find a mini that is suitable for an assassin...  :?

I shall have to have a cart count on their WotR game at Partizan on Sunday :)

I made it four... and they appeared to be more 'scenery' than playing an active role in the game. However they did look good, as did everything on the table for that matter. The empty display hooks for the WotR figures on the miniatures stand, would tend to support their popularity.

:)

Interesting that the raw material used for the cloth sides of the Carroccio is the same colour as the plastic rod.  Could it be thin plastic sheet heated and shaped?

Not too familiar with manufacturing techniques, but off the cuff I'd lean more towards a resin cast of the original greenstuff sculpt. I may well be totally wrong about this though.

I was under the impression that plastic doesn't handle the vulcanizing well. Perhaps that component will end up being resin in the final production. Does Perry have any other resin/metal hybrid offerings in their sets? I'm thinking the Gordon Khartoum vignette was...

Interesting set!
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.
