Great, the pledge form doesn't accept å, ä or ö. A pity that my address contains those letters then, arses >:(
Odd, my address wasn't a problem.

Looking forward to march! Lots of hefty plastic toys for my lad (chtulhu!) and even more plastic toys for me!

Just did my survey. Surprisingly there wasn't a lot in the extras I actually wanted. I traded Sophie in for Nethyrmaul. Got a couple of paint sets and the vampire set. My son will enjoy some painting practice with some of these. I'll keep a few and sell a bunch off to recoup some of the money even though the market will be flooded.

Hopefully they read my meassage stating these fact and that they make these changes :)
Had to pay an extra 12 dollars as well. Bastardly big Chtulhu for 10 bucks? Yes please...
Here in Denmark when people can't write æ, ø or å they write ae, oe or aa instead. Does that not work in Sweden? Just curious thats all.

Well it should, but then I would forfeit my chance to bitch and moan about something mundane, and that would be against my comfort seeking national culture.
People have gone to jail for less.

I never bother with the dots over å, ä, ö... I just skip them and write a, a and o.
Even when webforms accept them as input, they often encode to something differently containing characters like '[' and some other weird stuff.
Most annoying and it makes the address very hard to interpret.  >:(

I also locked down my order to the following:
* Vampire
* international shipping
* Frost Wyrm
* Jabberwocky
* Chtulu

I ditched Sophie, so it all got down to the $130 I'd already pledged. Hooray, sticking to the plan Dan!
Took me a while to realize that I was supposed to press + instead of - to remove Sophie from my order.
Very illogical in my book, but I guess it was stated if I actually bothered to read the instructions down to the letter.
Who's got time for that anyway, when there's loads of miniatures ahead!?  ;D

Well, if your address ever goes through either

a) two different software platforms or
b) a person whose native language doesn't contain diacritics,

you can be more than sure that things explode like a fuel truck in movies - spectacularly and in slow motion. Even in year 2012, using anything beyond 7-bit ascii character set is asking for trouble in any computing. And most people are shocked to learn that umlauts could carry some actual meaning. They assume it's some sort of sprinkling used randomly just for fun or for heavy metal attitude. Don't even expect them to find it on their keyboard.

An occasional French acute is the most complicated thing you can expect to be understood. Beyond that, all hope is lost.

We can have problem with accent even in French... some of my web orders ended up with pretty funky address... like Qu*@$bec instead of Québec...

I just don’t bother putting them now, it’s way more simple especially since some web site shows the info correctly but screw things up when it’s time to print the actual shipping label…

Anyhow, I’m off to fill the pledge now, I hope I can use Paypal ::)
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://tistaminis.com/

Well Paypal worked but since my first pledge fell thru (see my previous post), I ended up paying 150$ for the vampire level instead of 100$… I had to let go a paint set and the "orcapocalypse" to cover the difference :(

I can't quite Believe a company can take well over 3m on a kickstarter, it simply seem wrong and almost angainst the idea of kickstarter. With a product thht popular they seem to be playing the system and earning months of high interest! Unless of course they expected to ust make it.

Actually I always imagine the kickstarters ran by larger companies as a sort of pre-orders. And then in general geared towards products the company thinks might be popular but doesn't dare or cant invest enough in themselves. Without kickstarter the bones line might well have died an early death as the first offerings only had two interesting models in it, the rest being uninteresting doubles of the same sculpt.

I think that for a company this is a great way to get projects going that they might otherwise never have been able to, as the money comes in the front end of the transaction rather then at the end. And to that end it might well end up producing quite a few wonderful miniature lines and games we would never have seen otherwise.

Now whether or not kickstarter is meant for "larger" companies and if the money pledged to reaper is "taken away" from other smaller initiatives I really don't know, so I won't venture to make a statement on that.

YPI

You hit the nail on the head, I was thinking about it last night, but the fact they took so much made me feel bad for first timers that are struggling...

But it's not often you pay for something so far on advance, though I guess gamesworld is slightly different to real world. in someways the kickstarter here is that same as Otherworld's voucher scheme. I guess I was just shocked by the massive support for the products.

It still seems a little strange to see Reaper up there though I'm sure they don't take money away from other companies (indeed most miniature kickstarters seem to suceed) for me I guess it was the size of the company and the size of the funds generated, perhaps it will be GW next....

But new minis out there, I'm all for that!

PS, I think you are on to something re preorders. However, I'd add that is feels psychological different to take part in a kickstarter and I for one find it much easier to handover 100s on minis rather than 10s, perhas it's the I'm part of something feeling that feels good. However, it would be interesting to know if/how they impact on games stores, not that I know if reaper or other kickstarter projects would sell products through stores....

WTF... just going through the pledge manager, and it seems like they have upped the price on the extras?

Look at the Reaper KS... Nethyrmaul $25, but on the pledge manager it comes up as $30?  It seems like they added like $2 to every extra item.  Am I the only one who is seeing this?

EDIT:  Not sure what happened, but I exited the pledge manager, and came  back in after it reset, and the prices were back to normal.  Managed to fit in an extra model with the real prices.  Perhaps it was a glitch?

Mine was fine. Did you purchase during the kickstarter time? if not that's probably where the difference is. If you did pledge at the right time did you go through the email they sent you with your unique kickstarter code?
Other than that I'm stumped.
