Regardless of Bones, metal, plastic or whatever...you should wash your models with soap and water before you put them together or paint them. There's usually some kind of mould releasing agent on it which can affect paint sticking.

Did you wash it first?

Bones needs to be washed before use.

I doubt that helps much, it's PVC full of plastic weakeners. You could try car filler primer from your local hardware store. Those are usually based on epoxy resins and thus invulnerable to plastic weakeners.

Far less active than I used to...

For the Brits: Halfords car primer spray works well on Bones.

If its of any help I've attached a picture of the Bones Ogre I've painted. Its only the second plastic miniature I've ever painted so it was certainly a new experience.

Yes they are bendy, but my mix of old citadel paints and Reaper MS paints stuck to it with no problem. Took varnish with no problem either.

The mould lines are apaint to clean up, and the plastic is fairly soft. Certainly not a hard rigid one.

However all that said, I've sold loads of these and not had one complaint. The material works best with the bigger miniatures but it also reproduces small thin sections very well. They're just more bendy.

I'll have the whole range available to pre-order from the 22nd July, so if you want to pick a few up please feel free. I also have most of the first 30 releases in stock now. The purple worm and werewolf seem to be the favourites at the moment.

Maybe, but there have been quite a few reports of people getting much better results post-wash.  Really, all figs should be washed before painting, but I assume that most folks are like me and don't bother.

There have been enough reports though that I'll definitely be washing these.

Me too. I'll be filling a bucket with Luke warm soapy water (ill test one first to make sure its not too warm) and doing it in a couple of great big lots.

I just got a shipping confimation from reaper :)

No ETA though, but thing again seem to be proceeding.

It was a combined order for me and some friends, 2 vampires + 37 extras, so I'm looking for a pretty big box  o_o
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

The counter is down. If that means that they've finished the shipping, I'm a bit worried, since I haven't recieved a notification for my Vampire level and some extras.

They've apparently taken the counter down due to various reasons. Last look said that it was about 2000 orders left, and since they're shifting about 1000 orders a day, we should get notices soon :)
