And with impeccable timing, the General of Fortune book and the figure of One-armed Sutton (thanks Vern) have landed on my desk at work this morning.

A spot of reading over lunch methinks ...

An open and shut case of the 100%, barking at the moon, full howling madness.  Welcome to my hinterland.....

I think some mentioned a slippery slope earlier in this thread........................... lol lol lol lol

Seriously, having run a game using two hundred figures, and planning for a game that will use 400 figures, I realize now that I might be halfway to what I "need" for my fully realised vision lol lol lol

I think i may have found a home for my two unused Copplestone Armed Archeologists; you know, the one with two revolvers and t'other with the rifle  lol

Now the truth comes out.

Fifty figures is all you'll need says he, you won't have to paint anymore says he, and all the while he's smiling and sipping (!) his drink.

I'll never be able to believe a word he says - until the next time.

(cough) Bolshies find it hard to find allies, so you will probably need twice as many of them as anything else  ;)

I obviously need as much help as I can muster.

Just seen a photograph of a Tzar Tank I think I will have to make one, my enemies will laugh so much I will be able to send hordes of infantry forward without them noticing - hopefully!

[Gentlemen, do not be fooled by the Nice John sobriquet. Comrade Bolshevik here did not rise to the rank of Commissar for nothing  :D That raised eye-brow of his has had many a grown man put down the modelling implements and reach for the diagram again all fingers and thumbs]

Commrade,

An excellent idea. Your human shield troops will do nicely for our plans. I'm looking at having me one of those Sutton Skunks ...

Down the hatch! [or whatever the Russian equivalent is - Dosvsomethingorother!]

Just thought I ought to chip in to say that as a result of this thread I've had to buy a copy of the One Arm Sutton book as well, now on its way from Amazon. As I've nearly finished Tip & Run, and have a biography of Ewart Grogan up next, it might have to wait a while...will look out for the Two Gun Cohen book.

Must finish colonial Africa painting...

Hi Mark,

I'm about a third of the way through the book on Sutton. A fascinating tale, and he's not even in China yet!

Cheers,
James
