...Or pimping someone else's blog.  ;D

No offense to folks that enjoy 40K, but nothing bores me more than Space Orcs or Space Marines (even worse, Terminators) in brightly colored battle suits.

I am interested in Inquisitor or Necromunda stuff; however, and these photos blew my mind!  :-*

Yes, this is all very cool. I do get bored with 40k also. This isn't to discredit anyone who does like it, I really enjoy the older school imagery, and I even worked for GW for a time. I also have a small warband of Nurgle Space Marines :) But I digress...

Here is something that has always inspired me, always offering something new no matter how many times I look at it!

This really does remind me of 'ye olde days', especially with Mr John Blanche present. I very much enjoyed that. It makes me want to get my 54mm Inquisitor figures out.

Well I've lead an evil life, so they say, but I'll outrun the Devil on judgement day.

Christian, yes I saw that sight a while ago and was equally impressed. One of these days, I'm going to construct some modular multi layered gaming boards as well.  :D

By the way, more pictures from the same event on a different blog:

Glad you like it :) It was a big turning point for me to realise I could make my own stuff (before stumbling onto LAF, that is).

So this game of Inquisitor is actually in 28mm?

EDIT: Also, some interesting ideas for conversions based on Blanche's artwork are on this blog: http://spikyratpack.blogspot.com.au/. Enjoy!

As far as I can tell they are all the one true scale "28's".  lol

I suppose that was the main issue with Inquisitor at 54mm, people weren't geared up (generally) to game at that size. I have a load of the figures for painting & modelling purely because I liked them. This thread has highlighted a lot if what I liked about the theme.

Yeah, I never thought I'd be drawn to 40K stuff again!

I have to agree, 54 must have killed it for a lot of folks.

Yes, I have to agree. The idea of playing on a smaller scale is really tempting! I also imagine converting a "true scale" Space Marine would be quite rewarding.

I never understood why Inquisitor was 54mm...didn't make sense.
