Yep, they had me and then lost me with that sculpt.  Between the huge shoulder-pads, the body armour that wouldn't fit on a human body (nor allow him to bend or move in any actual direction) to the small monk-style cap...it's far too similar, and pretty blase looking.

Pass on that fella.  bring back the robots.

Indeed!

I have to agree there. It's a real shame as the concept looks great and they've obviously spent a fair amount on artwork and so on but the design and digital sculpts just don't do it for me.

All the best!

Well, I'll buy the big armored guy - if he's ever made.

Yet more renders. This time an assault craft of some sort. Pretty nice, apart from the weird-looking tail turret, and it should be pretty big IRL too if the game's still aimed to be about 28mm. But be that as it may, with the glacial speed this project is advancing at, I don't think it'll be ready for the tabletop in a long while yet.

I understand caution and real life commitments, but 'glacial' is the operative word. Wake me up when there's actual minis, will you?

And now this:
http://www.thonthegame.com/3/post/2014/03/april-newsletter.html

As it was put out yesterday, let's entertain the thought they have actually cast some miniatures for the game at long last. As to the ones shown, the level of detail and anatomy seems to be about right, tho the smaller chap has some problems with his legs and a little simplistic gun.

So I'd buy the big mech guy, but I can't locate any link or info to do so. I miss something?

I doubt they are actually on sale yet. No doubt their newsletter would clarify but I don't get that.

Looks good. Except if the guy on the left is a human, his knees seem a bit weird to me. A bit difficult to know about the size with those special bases too.

Yep, definitely suffering from a mild case of knock-knee. While I can sympathize with the fellow, I must assume that the leg pose is unintentional in this case :-X

As for the size, I suppose we'll have to wait patiently until they actually get something out for sale. All this really tells us for now is that this project is still going somewhere slowly instead of just sitting completely dead in the water.

Thon rules (at least the RPG version thereof) are apparently being worked on as well, judging by this first look at a "stat block":

Noticed the other day that Aetherium has netted at least one similarly posed miniature too, maybe there's a trend forming :P
