Inspired by the article in the TooFatLardies Summer Special 2012 about migrating Dux Britanniarum to other periods I have made a go for my favorite wargaming period, “Kalmar Union War” i.e. warfare in Sweden during the 15th century.

Thanks also to Jim and Max for god inspiration for theirs Late Medieval Dux Migations.

You can find a little more about the first stages of the migration and some more pictures of the Activation and Fate cards I made for Dux Suecia here and some pictures of the set up of our first test game "Raid of Penningby 1466" here

Today I and Jonas will continue our Dux Suecia Campaign (Migrat of TFL Dux Britanniarum to kalmar Union War i.e. Civil War in 15th century Sweden)

In the last game the Union forces tried to Raid Penningby but was repulsed due to stiff Allmoge resistance.

The Union/Archbishop forces haven´t had time to replace all losses so the Rebells under command of the Knight Nils Bosson Sture of the House Natt och Dag have the upperhand. The rebells decide to attack a Union supply column destined to the Archbishop and his troops that defending the Swedish capital Stockholm.

You can find some more pre-game pictures from the terrain I was at the club and set up befor our game tomorrow at the blog

Best regards Michael

Michael. Great looking terrain and figures. I do not know enough (anything) about this theatre of conflict. Interested to find out more, can you recommend any English language reading if it exists!? Cheers. Michael.

Thanks !!!

It was a very nice game indeed, I hope to have a AAR finished untill the weekend.

There arn´t much in english about this era, you might have a look at the Osprey book Men-At-Arms #399: Medieval Scandinavian Armies (2): 1300-1500,

Please also have a look at this short .pdf article (some sort of download link from the University of Lund) about "Murder and Execution within the Political Sphere in Fifteenth-century Scandinavia" by one of Swedens morst renowed Historians, Prof. D. Harrison but this is the only article i can find that he publisched in english about this erea, if you by any chanse read Swedish i woulr recomend his biografy of Karl Kutsson Bonde, a nobleman that was active in Sweden durin the period og 1436-1471 and managed to be king of Sweden 3 times:)

I´m glad that my AAR can get you at least some bit interested in the Swedish medieval history:)

Best regards Michael
