next one:

Next Mech ready to deploy (apart from Sword Of Light decals not yet added): 80 ton HTM-27T "Hatamoto Chi".

Left arm sporting a Tiegart PPC. Note the back banner that I have added, using a plastic part from Zvezda's 1/72 samurai box.

Detail of the right arm: Katana sword (custom variant, the HTM-27T normally doesn't have one) and a second Tiegart PPC.

Details of the back include the banner (sashimono) and sword+flame emblem of House Kurita's elite regiments.

Front shot reveals the two torso mounted Bical SRM-6 Missile Racks and the cherry blossom theme that I am trying to add to all Kurita Mechs so they don't end up being simply painted red all around.

Off to the painting table. The Coordinator needs more war machinery!

Its been a while since I finished the last Mech. This time I have kit-bashed an Armored Valkyrie kit from Macross with a Gashapon action figure off ebay. Torso and shoulders are from the kit, legs and lower arms from the action figure. The lower arms and shoulders can re-posed as I did not glue them on.

House Davion CRD-3R Crusader Mech

"The Crusader has a well-deserved reputation as a reliable, versatile Mech. Commonly found in command and fire lances, the Mech is equally at home
alongside Marauders and Thunderbolts in close-assault units. Some versions
have even served as scout Mechs, but this is rare."

arm-mounted Magna Longbow-15 LRM 15s, Intek Medium Laser, M100 Machine Guns

note the hip-mounted Harpoon SRM 6s

Really well painted. Funny thing is that I'm currently interesting myself again on battletech (in the same time I'm building heroscape 3d terrain).

The only thing I don't understand is why you choosed another scale than the official 6mm-1/300 ?

I must admit this topic, along with Spacemanspiffs awesome blog is getting me thinking about larger scale battletech!

I think the sheer size of the mechs on the table compared with the 6mm allows for a better visual spectacle so can totally understand moving up scale!

Another plus seems to be the cost. It's actually often cheaper to buy the plastic bits and bobs and clicky stuff than the metal 6mm stuff as an average mech from ironwind or ral partha seems to retail around £7-£8 which is a tad expensive!

All the best!

Actually, I have chosen the larger scale cause in the beginning I was not going to use the CBT rules. That has changed now, but I already had some 50 Mechs...

I am using Tomorrow's War for infantry and vehicle warfare and CBT Miniature Rules for mostly Mech battles.

Speaking of Infantry: here are some re-based clicky tech figures..

They are more or less 10mm, almost 12mm.

This just gets better and better.  I'm about to ebay a bunch of 1/200 stuff...and I keep thinking whether or not I should try a Battletech game in this scale...but I think I'll be tied up once the 1/285th Palladium stuff comes out.

I like the Atlas okay (that particular figure isn't that great).  I'd have a hard time not using one of the gorgeous 1/48 VOTOMs (what it was based on anyway)

Just a bit of conversion work needed...I think the 1/48 would actually scale well too - a little bit larger, but the Atlas is farkin' huge anyway!  lol

An 1/144 kit (should have used the smaller 1/200 that is available as well) to represent an unseen Goliath
