Eh, from looking at the 1/144 stuff I handled while building my 1/200 Robotech stuff, I didn't find it that off-scale...especially for something like Battletech where mech sizes are supposed to vary significantly.  Did you get the big box of mecha from that cartoon series? (The griffin, goliath...the show name escapes me).  Hobby Link Japan had a full set for very cheap, not sure if it's sold out:

Dougram, this 10-kit set.  Sadly looks to be discontinued.  I see several mechs though: http://www.hlj.com/product/DYS50000/Sci

Goliath
Griffin
Battlemaster
Thunderbolt
(and several other Griffin models it looks like)

Would have been a cool grab, and for pretty darned cheap.

Got two of the Dougram 30th anniversary boxes already two years ago. (Remember my Shadow Hawk, its one of those kits) Good kits, all of them. I should start some of my Marauders soon (Got four of them). But currently I am working on more Clanners.

Shadow Hawk!  That's the one I couldn't name...but recognized it (very Griffin-like I think).  Cool, awesome stuff.  So you have a Battlemaster in the pipeline eventually? (one of my all-time favourite Battlemechs).

I can't recall which book it was...as I read a heapin' load of Battletech novels as a kid, but the main character had a Battlemaster.  Just a cool freakin' mech.  If I ever stumble upon some Dougram stuff for cheap I think that would push me over the edge to start a similar project!  lol

House Kurita's 60 ton "RFL-3N Rifleman" ready for action. Another repainted ExoSquad action figure.

Business end: two Imperator Class A AC/5s and two Magna Mk. III Large Lasers.

I added a samurai flag and cherry blossom paintings to make the Rifleman fit in with my other Sword Of Light Mechs.

Having only 10 heat sinks, the RFL-3N is inadequate for constant fire. Most of its dissipating heat is vented on its back, using large grilles.

I'm about to sell off a huge heap of 1/200 Nichimo kits - are you looking for anything in particular before I do?

Hi,

Your minis are really cool  :o

Could you post some comparison picture, to see the scale diference ? I'm not figuring it very well...

ANother thing I'm not sure to understand, is how do you make all these mechs ? If I understand correctly, you're using museum scale minis from official range, but there is only a few available...How do you make the other ones ?

Any detailed pictures of the work in progress process ? would be very interesting. Once again, your minis are great, but I'm pretty sure there is A LOT MORE work behind these cool robots...

@sundayhero: there are only a few of my Mechs from Ral Partha's official Museums Scale range. The others are Gashappons (multi-posable Japanese action figures), plastik kits (Nichimo, Arii and old 80's vintage Revell) in various scales, action figures from Robotech and Exo Squad (3 inch) or resin kits. Some Mechs also are nothing but repainted official Mechs from Mechwarrior Dark Age (by WizKids). It needs a lot of try and error to find those scales that look good next to each other. Sometimes you have to do the trick and increase the base hight to keep the Mech's appearance back in scale with others. My Atlas for example is actually the tallest Mech although the miniature itself is not. I am a battlech fan but I am no scale-nazi. If its looking good on the table I am fine with that. Scales of the Dougram kits or Macross Veritechs differ and are all either 1/200, 1/170 or 1/144. Some should be a little taller, others could be a little smaller. But that's what you have to deal with if you try playing a game with official miniatures and yet avoiding using those.  lol
