Another update, had a good sit down this weekend and got some more paint on plastic.
Also this week been busy converting one of these new updates and casting some Heroquest style bases so all the minis I paint for the game will sit on the same bases as the originals and not look out of place.
OCD or what?

Start off with a Skeleton from the Darkworld game on one of the above mentioned bases.

Gives more variation to the Skellies in the game which makes me happy. (got more of these as well)

Next a stock Fimir

Edged away from green for him after seeing Mr Saturday's Fimir blog here.

Finally a converted stock HQ Elf into my earlier styled Drizzt Do'Urden, from the R A Salvatore Dark Elf books for the Forgotten Realms world.

Greenstuff cloak and hood, HQ Goblin swords, and new right hand from some GW placcy arm.

Ta.

Your brushwork is rather awesome.  It really brings those figures to life.

Really good stuff there sir!

I love HQ, and it is the only boardgame that I have ever painted up all the figures for.

Also this week been busy converting one of these new updates and casting some Heroquest style bases so all the minis I paint for the game will sit on the same bases as the originals and not look out of place.
OCD or what?

Nah, even as a youngster, I cut all the models off their bases and mounded them on to 20mm square Warhammer-style bases with plasticard flagstones and black-painted edges (to match the board - they looked like the floor areas in the corridors). Mostly, I did this because the original bases were all rectangular and didn't fit properly on the board when the models were placed in smaller rooms...

I also like the idea of converting duplicates - in fact, I always felt that weapon variants of the enemies should get Hero-style weapon rules (so for example, scythe Skellies get to attack diagonally like a Hero with a spear, but sword Skellies do not).

I thought OCD was the main requirement for this hobby?

Always nice to see well painted Heroquest stuff. Conversions are great and they give fresh look to these aged sculpts. Good job!

Thank you.

Pretty pleased with the Fimir to be honest, turned out better than I thought it would.
Got disheartened at one point because it just looked muddy.

Few more pieces that have been on my desk for a while.
(Told ya I'm fairly slow at getting stuff done, but I do get there in the end.)

Nurgle Chaos Warrior

Goblin with spear

Hobgoblin

Gladiator
(Really not the best mini I have ever had the misforture to paint, realy poorly sculpted tbh)

Next on my list......well we'll just have to wait and see.....

Thinking of doing all my bases like the Gladiator one with some sparse sand scattered on.
