Malebolgia's Cybertronic (UPDATE Jan 2: Stuff assembled)
« on: October 29, 2013, 08:12:06 PM »
Since the Warzone Kickstarter is nearing completion, I think I will receive my miniatures soon. So time to work on the color scheme and the first miniatures. I am starting with the proxies I am using for Chasseurs. I just don't like the concept and execution of the official Chasseurs at all, so I wanted to try something different. I used 'Akula's' Assault soldiers for his generic space opera range. Fantastic miniatures and with the right headswap perfect for what I had in mind. I used Pig Iron Production heads to make them faceless and thus a bit colder. For colors I first wanted to do my Cybertronic in the colors of the Space Jockey from Aliens, but in the end went with my favorite color: P3 Coal Black. So the undersuit is Coal Black with a lighter blue for the plates. The complementary orange was added to make him pop more. Same goes for the base. Went for a brown base to get a good contrast with the blue. So far I'm happy with it, so I'll continue with the other Chasseurs. Hopefully they're done before I receive my order, so I can get down on them ASAP :)

Almost didn't recognise my own mini with that paint job, but works really well.

Those unusual colours REALLY work together! Love the blending! :-* :-*

Do you think you'll manage to do that for ALL the troops?

That is a very cool mod and paint scheme. Can't figure out a way to steal it just yet, tho.

And two more Chasseurs finished! This time also a Plasma Rifle.

The Plasma Rifle is from the Wargames Factory Shock Troopers and I like the weird high tech look it has.
I changed the painting on the pistol and I like the new look a lot more than the light grey on the first one. In the end I will change the painting on the first one's gun...someday :P.
After painting I found out I highlighted the armor plates on #2 and #3 way more, but the difference is acceptable IMO.
And yes, the varnish on #3's visor cracked :(. Ah well, you don't see it during games.

Here's a group shot of the first three together.
