Personally i'm very curious to see your balsawood: can you provide us a closer look to the panels and some indications about cost and store?

This looks gorgeous, Skander. I tend to be a little timid when I paint my rusts ans shy away from a orange highlight although it is recommended by the expert. It looks really good!
Thank you Peder! I've learned that you can't overdo rust, but there's a chance that you underdo it. So when you find yourself in a situtation where you shun away from stuff, just dab on some orange, mix it around with some ochra and umber colours, finish it of with a yellow ink and you'll basically get the result your after. Or worst, buy some rust effects :) I'm wating for my model mate one, when I recieve it I'll give a quick review.

Thank you Guy! There will be more boats. I'm just unsure which one :(
Either a fishing boat from this:

Or this:

Perhaps a ferry now run by cutthroats and pirates based on this:

Maybe I'll do a yacht based on this Revell kit, however, I'm very unsure how I even could build it to make it larger and gameable ???

It isn't that much to photograph I'm afraid ;) It's a mixed lot of 1x10mm, 1x2 mm and 2.5x2.5mm. The store is Swedish: www.materialbutiken.se

Great update! The lighthouse turned out really nice, I especially like distance-measuring-thing on it! (If that's what it is... :D )

Cheers! I've already planned for a Danish invasion with chainsmoking sailors throwing cod at them other poor sailors. Unsure what I should base the minis on though ;)

Distance-measuring-whatever. It's a bit I found in one of the bit bags, thought it suited the platform, since it felt a bit naked without details :)

So then, the tank-whatever thingy-island-whatever is finished!
In theme with my rather silly rule of recycling and finding stuff among my already existing pile of rubbish, I managed to find all that I needed with saved styrofoam cut-offs, cork, plastic card and an old toy truck tanker. Some filler, sand, swearing and it had reached an WIP-stage:

Nothing sassy about the front at all.

Now, the back was another story. Those rocks and rubble took some due time, but on the other hand, the result was beyond expectations.

Here's the result after 2 hours worth of painting. Mostly drybrushed, washed, washed, glazed, drybrushed and then washed again. In the end the filler couldn't really coop with all the liquid, but I managed to fix it with yet another coat of paint and some extra washing :)
Ladies and gentlemen, the gas station!

And a small collection of all the stuff, minus the first lighthouse that's in the gaming club for supposed varnish:

With a small close-up:

 lol lol lol

That first picture with the whale really did make me laugh out loud.
Brilliant, mad and so in keeping with this project.

The whole base/rock thingy looks superb, it has a great finish and the rust on the tank looks top notch.
Hammers is right, most would shy away from the orange, but you have really nailed it.
Superb!

Thank you Paul! :)
And a good thing you got the joke with the whale ;) I had plans first to do an Exxon logo, fucked it up, and tataa, whale!

Don't shy away from the orange! If it turns out to bright, which it does when you put it on directly without mixing it with som yellowish or brownish colour, you can always glaze away until it fades :)

Lovely stuff, great project all in all.

I think you should put S-363 on your to-do-list ;)
