I haven't done a chaos army but I would look at the Demonworld range now produced by Ral Partha Europe http://www.ralparthaeurope.co.uk/demonworld-c-76.html
Marauders from The Warlords of Thain range
Warriors and Beastmen from the Icelords of Isthak
At least how I would do it.

I am not sure how GW-like it is, but I've put together an HOTT chaos army in 15mm:

I don't know whether to be a good example or a horrible warning.

Try Eureka Miniatures 10mm and 18mm fantasy ranges for some of the things:

I have a 15mm Chaos Army, check out my blog

www.warrenswargamerantings.blogspot.com

They are made up from several different sources.

Demonworld foot and mounted knights
Old Ral Patha goblins, painted up as demonic minions
Eureka 10mm 'beast men' painted as an alternative sect of demonic minions
GW Nurgal 'nurglings' again a different sect of demonic minons
Old GW 'familiars'
Old GW 'Juggars' used as behemoths
All topped off with various large models as trolls and giants.

Just one of my 15mm armies.  So far I have Humans, Dwarves, Chaos, Beastman, Orcs, Goblins and Lizards.  I did have Undead but sold them, they are the opponents in the second game shown.

As you can tell I love 15mm fantasy and my collection is ever expanding!

I am using the fan generated fantasy addictions for Hail Caesar, they rules work really well and are very adaptable to whatever you are fielding.

All comments on the blog are welcome

Welcome Bunny!

I shouldn't be surprised (having plenty of 15mm armies), but the mass of the armies on your blog are fantastic. I still struggle when I see fantasy armies that it's not 16 elves in that unit, but a whole lot more (I blame Warhammer in not explaining figure scale to me).

Thanks Lucky,

Especially with the Orcs and Goblins that is just a small part of an ever growing army or armies.

Some of my units do have 16 figures, the Black Orcs for example (2 bases of 8)but some of the Goblin hordes have up to 64 figures (4 bases of 16).

On average thought each unit, 2 bases, is 16 to 32 figures.

Each base is 80x30 or 80x40. Commands, giants and specials are on 40x40.

The giant spiders are just that, giant.  Their frontage is 120mm

More pictures to come as my forces expand!
