First Pirate Ship

What a great site this is, why have I never joined before?

Anyway, as I am building ships for an upcoming game, I thought I would share my first attempt.

It is a converted Playmobil toy that has been waterlined. The hull cannon are just pens, but they work okay.

There are more images here.

My next project is a larger ship with even more firepower.here if you are interested.

That's some nice conversion work - love the rigging!

Do you have any photos with more miniatures on board? I'd love to see what it looks like during a game, for scale comparisons.

Great conversion and painting! From a purist standpoint I believe the grating on deck would be wood, not iron, but who would be churlish enough to make a fuss over something so minor on that masterpeice?

Looks very fine. Was it difficult to do the waterline conversion?

Thanks for the comments guys.

I will get some pictures with crew online soon.

Waterlining this ship was had work as I did it with a handsaw. The second ship I am working on was done with an electric jigsaw...much easier. I then used green stuff to cover the hacking and make it look like water!

My ships are very much for the fantasy genre and so I am not trying to make them historically accurate.
