Thanks again Doug! I'm grateful I get to play with a wonderful group of gamers, friends and relatives both.

And I'm happy to be party to any movement that gets a game going.

Thank you Brummie Thug! We put it all to good use this past holiday weekend and introduced another new player to "Fantasy Warriors"!

Our translator commanded the orc forces, 6 units of infantry in total.

Daughter commanded two Kildarian cavalry units plus one unit of picked men, while the new fellow was granted 2 units of ulfhednar and a unit of berserks.

The battle was fierce, with lots of dice being thrown.

Our youngest helped roll for the orcs:

And helped document the fun:

It was a back-and-forth battle with figures coming off the board every turn.

Many more pictures, (*warning* most are adorable) and report on the website:

To finish off the picture I read your bio. I'm sure you realize what an idyllic life you & Himself have...AND deservedly so. It is all rather WONDERFUL.

Not only close-fought, but bloody to boot!

As I type, I haae a base being laid in my garden for a "garden office" (really just a shed) which, if truth be told, I'm planning on using more as a garden wargames room. My plan, partly inspired by this thread, is to inaugurate it with a Fantasy Warriors battle involving my son, nephews and brother-in-law. In the days when we were playtesting FW, they were all involved in trial games, even though my son and nephews were very young back then. We had a campaign going for some time until they grew up, went to University, got married etc. But they often recall the old games and plaintively ask when we are going to have another. With luck, that time may not be far off.

First, I must try and find all the notes we've made over the years of rules interpretations and modifications. I foresee lively debate... :)

Thanks for your continuing inspiration.

Doug

If shedman turns up I'll hopefully be joining you ;-)

Fantastic pictures Jevenkah and I'm jealous about the size of your room ;-)

Doug, A garden shed sounds like such a wonderful place to game! I'm picturing sunflowers by the door.

I've seen how much our family loves to game together; I hope you all have as much fun rekindling your campaigns.

Thanks for the compliments, shredder. Our house was built by my husband, his father and many friends and family. We used trusses so we didn't need any interior walls for support, and kept open a room downstairs and a room upstairs that are essentially half of the floor plan. (I talk about the space a little more in my other thread here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=54058.msg829757#msg829757) It's a fantastic space.

Thanks Nala! I am indeed most blessed and idyllic is definitely a word I would use to describe our home!
