You are certainly producing figures fast. I have not even had time to compliment you on some very nice handgunners and you have already displayed some fine horsemen. I love your use of the distinctive patterns to make these figures so unequivocally Italian.
Can I ask what colours you used for the woodwork of the handguns? It looks exactly the colour I always try to achieve and never quite manage

I am sorry about the handgun colours: its just a wild mix of Foundry browns. Spearshaft A, chestnut C...even Flesh B...:D

I managed to paint a new unit for the game tonight. Some crossbowmen for siena...

Hopfully I get them based, after work.

It certainly has something to do with the limited colour palette. I just paint 4 Colours, wich is not very time consuming...;)

Cheers,
Don

Beautiful brushwork, the backdrop works great and the gaming mat is fabulous as well!  :-*

Gotta ask, what German rules set you mentioned a page or two ago? And do unit leaders need to be based on round bases?

Cheers,

PL

The ruleset is called Kugelhagel. Its card-driven and you activate unit for unit, not one side and then the other.
Works very well for me...
And you could base your leaders as you find appropriate.

We played another game this evening. 4 Players with 5-6 units. No leaders were used.

Couldn't do enough pics, because I was busy running the game. So just a few impressions.

Overview of the battelfield.

The two players on the right side of the table battle for the small village...

Bad luck brought us down...;(

My men are doing theire job but get shot later... :o

Two pike blocks look invinceble until the heavy cav shows up.

The village is defended...

My playtesters were really cool. I wasn't too fit with the rules, but they were very patient.
Scenario was pretty straight from the box. Have to do a little bit more interisting here...

Cheers,
Don

Is there a version in English that could be playtested?

I'm really impressed, not only are you producing high quality units at a very fast rate, you are also able to still able to find time to play an impressive looking game with them. Are you actually identical triplets?

I am afraid not, sorry.

still able to find time to play

I am more a gamer than a painter. So having a gaming appointment at the end of the week, is always good for my pace... :D

I managed to paint up a few more troops today. I needed 2 more units for Siena, so here are 6 skirmishers and a gun crew.

The gun crew has its arms from the Perry-plastic-artilleryset. Fits very well.

Next step will be basing...
And if I find the time, I ll take an army pic.

Cheers,
Don

Absolutely stunning stuff, how have I missed this thread!

Thanks for the blow by blow painting shots, it's always great to see how things get done.

Keep it up.

What a great idea. Nice conversions  :)

Great looking battlefield too.
(Except for the doormat - I know it's a popular wargaming tabletop feature, but I've never been convinced by the 'a slab of doormat looks like a field of crops' notion. But apart from that - the trees and buildings and base boards - all gorgeous :))

They're all lovely--I've been eyeing up the Civil war arty for the same arms.
It's nothing, sir. Just a burn from a ray gun.

Like those artillerymen. If you have spare arms from the Perry's plastic artillery set are you also mass producing figures for an ACW army?
