Brighter than noir, I'll have to see when it comes to painting them though and what takes may fancy but I do want them to look a bit like they've come from manga/anime etc

How about noir with neon interludes?!

Grey and somber then flashes of bright and vibrant yellows, greens, blues and pinks

Could be an idea although to be fair I have very few figures to try it on at the moment.

Other news, I got the bottom floor cut out tonight and will assemble and prime tomorrow so the whole block wil be complete apart from the details

I must admit, this is getting quite exciting

Looks great so far, though it bloody well should and we would expect nothing less.

Now get on and finish the Ludus, Nottingham castle, the Martian canals, viaduct etc and......

Got the ground floor shop done today and now it'll all go,in the cupboard until some undetermined time in the future

The shop front is generic (no ip infringement etc) and looks suitably Japanese (I hope). All the windows are in and I'm toying with the idea of lighting the shop with strip LEDs when it has some shelves in.

Still lots of details to put in but I suppose it's actually playable in it's current state

So.....what's bigger, the Japanese tower block or the wizards tower?

I hate to be the one to point this out, how do your tower block residents get up to their flats? Are you planning on stairs or even a doorway leading to stairs inside?
