James that looks great it reminds me of one the hotels in OSAKA. Make sure there are lots of alleys and little food bars. :D

James has got this all wrong - rather than theme this project on Akira, he should be doing Bartkira:

I'll do what I can  :)

Painted the expressway support and a road tile. Not too happy with the white lines but I was rushing them a little bit  ::)

I've gone for a slightly lighter road colour than what was used for the bases, seems to fit better now. The little holes are for the road barrier supports that'll be done at some point, still need to find a suitable material for the barriers themselves.

No detritus yet, I'll need to spend an afternoon making a massive pile of it and use it as teeny tiny scatter terrain  lol

cheers

James

I wish I could paint white lines to your "rushed" standard. Looks good looking forward to seeing a painted up section of the expressway.

Couldn't you make the road barriers out of blue foam?
Just sayin'...... ;D

Looks good big chap! :-*

Have you tried drybrushing your dirt streaks on as opposed to using washes?

No  >:D

I haven't, no. There's washes and weathering powders on there (about five different colours although you can't tell) but I never thought about drybrushing. Go  any examples?

The ones in Japan are very streaky though  :)

cheers

I'm struggling to find decent pics of examples mate! Drybrushing into the corners and recesses can add some different colour and add some extra interest to large flat areas.

Here the brown is drybrushed to add a more dirty feel.

Again, not great pics mate, the green was drybrushed along the bottom of the wall to look like moss or dampness.

Here the brown is used to make it look rusty.

Smart arse, there's a few more at work being done as and when  ;D

Have been doing some roof furniture here and there and I think they fit quite well. Still looking to put lights on them for that complete 'bling' effect  ::) :D

The white building and the block of flats to the left still need painting.

Needless to say, this won't be for BLAM...

cheers
