To be fair, IF they deliver what they say they will, some of the pledge levels get the Mech and the heavy weapon squad as free add ons, so that would save you a decent amount.

But yeah, i imagine that kickstarter is now only for big pledges, not for small ones. That was not the initial spirit, but it has become like this today, we have to accept it.

The only thing I want to know is what happened to tony and pals. Nothing said they no longer work for the company so I suspect they have just stepped back into the shadows

The official communique indeed didn't disclose anything about "Tony and pals". Mr. Whitehouse's statement on TMP was the closest thing to the official thing I've bothered to find:

Tony has stepped down from all business aspects of the company. I'd expect he'll work on the background material for Alien War

Looks like, again only based on the aforementioned thread (goes by the nic "Mexican Jack Squint" on TMP). He's the author of their Alien War ruleset so it would seem rather likely that he's still involved with that at least.

Yeah, a $65 dollar pledge gets you a decent amount of stuff.

But when would you actually get the stuff?

And what quality would the stuff be?

i've to say, their concept arts are simple, but really well executed. At the moment i can't say the same for their minis, i'm afraid. But we'll see those hardsuits. the concept is quite lovely.

Yeah, I remember the concept art for the first space marines they did. It was really nice, but the figure shown never actually appeared in the box. I'm also slightly curious why every female marine looks like Vasquez from Aliens

Still, if it was a company with a better track record, I would probably back it. I'm still thinking about it, as the $25 pledge would just sneak under UK import duty

Need to find something shiny to distract myself for a couple of weeks until it finishes

This is Starbuck, aka Big Dummy (said in my best Fred Sanford voice), who I currently ride the most.

Luke was a Peruvian Paso, Skifari (in the back ground) and Starbuck are Icelandics.  I like to ride them when I go out viking and looting monasteries.

KS ended at $46,492. A pretty good run, given Defiance's rep on the forums I've frequented of late. Even if the goal was so low that the fact that it was funded more than 18 x over isn't significant in and of itself.

Depending on the material I'd be interested in a hardsuit or two from a reputable retailer like Warstore at some point.  I'll be waiting for serious hands-on reviews.
