@NurgleHH:

I'll probably never get a copy. Don't work for them and I don't especially *want* a copy at this stage. :P

It's funny, I don't work for them and I *still* want to find an immediate solution for everyone. I guess that's the same as anyone else though.

To be fair, Prodos is not the only company with KS problems.

I backed 2 Mantic projects during the last 2 years, the pledge amounts have been drawn from my account, and now every sign of me backing those 2 projects have disappeared from my backer account on KS (and I have not received what I pledged for in the first one (Dungeon Saga)).

I am not likely to ever back another project on KS, whether or not this is sorted out (I addressed the problem on Mantics FB page last week, got an email address to complain to, and am still waitng for an answer). Just too many gripes associated with this form of pre-ordering for my liking.

KS is definitely starting to show its' limits as a platform. It has been used to great effect for companies that would otherwise be unable to bring their product to market, and has been abused by others as a way to take money for a product that will never materialize. When the latter happens there is unfortunately very little leverage available to the backers to recoup their money.

I've supported a lot of campaigns and am waiting on several to be delivered. At this point however, I think I'm done with it. The quality of the games hasn't always been there, and I'd have been able to avoid dropping substantial sums of money on games I might have avoided if I'd waited until retail. Many of the campaigns offer large quantities of product or figures or whatever, but nowadays quantity isn't a huge selling point to me.

Yep, I agree that Kickstarter is starting to show those signs.

It is a really great idea and I'll continue to use it; I like to think there are companies to follow the guidelines of.

Oathsworn, for example, I think are the very best company at running Kickstarter projects. Small projects, but run regularly.

@Argonor: That's a shame, but with your reasoning, I can hardly blame you...

Funny, kickstarter seems to be very fair. The small companies using it to get money for their projects become the winner (good in time, fair handling), but the companies using it to make every action so secure, get punished by the market mechanism (Delay, licence problems in fact of bad pre-work).
So, kickstarter becomes interesting for smaller projects and this big things getting more uninteresting for people. It is really funny...

On a related note...isn't it weird then to have these (terrible) Beast of War videos on Warzone popping up with you in a Prodos shirt?
Not terrible because of you, but the whole setup is too much Tellsell with the other guy being surprised and in awe all the time while it's extremely orchestrated.

I love BoW but I've stopped watching a good portion of the videos. I stick to the weekender and backstage one, some painting videos and that's about it. I already own enough stuff/games, so unless it's for a game I really dig, I probably won't watch it.

It is what it is.

I love the Beasts of War guys and what they do for the industry. The Warzone videos served a purpose, but yes, they are orchestrated.

However, I recently went back and did filming with Age of Tyrants. My commands from John (CEO) were to be chilled out and edgy. No uniform, nothing like that.

It was much more comfortable, plus we spent the better part of 3 weeks planning a 20-30 minute slot... I think it shows!

I almost don't believe it myself. Look what arrived today.

Hopefully that means more are on the way for the rest of you guys. I only had miniatures in my order so perhaps that made it cheaper to post and therefore an easy one for them to clear off the list.

Thanks.

I think so though I seem to have two Predaliens and I only ordered one.

Congrats!

I might be 5 drones / infants down though. I'll need to check.

Edit: nope. All there, including the second Predalien which I don't recall at all.

I should add that my intention in posting this is to highlight that stuff is arriving, not to show off or anything.  I'm really hoping it means that all you guys will get your stuff too.
