Well, it certainly appears that Prodos haven'y given up on the venture... not when they are touting this beast:

http://shop.prodosgames.com/en/alien-vs-predator/261-alien-versus-predator-dropship-.html?newsletterpro_source=newsletter&id_newsletter=20

They are terrible pictures. Buy some lights Prodos.

I'd like a dropship, but from those pictures it won't be that one.

Is that some kind of chibi-dropship?  :?  Nice of them to spend all that time...instead of shipping products to actual customers.

Actually I think it's a render and not even a physical cast.  Another red flag.

My guess would be that's because if they built it to the same scale as the movie prop, it would be around 4' long.

What's that saying, about never throwing good money in after bad money?

Lets not forget Jarek/Prodos initially said:

Quote
Some of you have already seen some 3d concept of the new Dropship and looking at it, it’s going to be huge. Pricing wise we’re not 100% sure until it’s actually cast but what I can say is, it is planned, that this will be a 2 model box set. That’s right, 2 models. 1 the Dropship and the 2nd being the APC. We are really excited about making these iconic vehicles.

And as folks panned the Dropship on Facebook, Jarek says:

Quote
as for dropship, we will revisit it a bit, in general the movie one has no room for a APC to go inside... so we needed to bulk it a bit (5%) to fit APC in real scale. but as this had so much "prodos dad, gak and in general go F your self" we may just cancel the APC and keep closed ram drop ship with much "movie" scale and less rivets (that would not be there after 3d print anyway, but hey, this is what you get when you show just a half of the story.

Having said that, and even knowing what dishonest crap bags Prodos are, I hope all you pre-order at least 6 drop ships each*.  Maybe then Prodos can use some of your money to ship the KS backers what they are owed.

*Just kidding, I personally hope no one supports Prodos, and think it idiotic to actually pre-order anything from them.

So......the internet doesn't work in Poland?  The filming prop most certainly did fit the APC RC prop inside.  It would just end up being too big and too expensive at tabletop scale.  So you know, super deformed.  It's really cool in Japan.

If there's one thing I've learned about model research, it's that google is hard. ;D

I read somewhere that they had based the model on the comics and not the movie. Anybody know if this is true or just BS?
(and shouldn't the comics one be based on the movie one and therefore not very different?)
