Thanks guys. I thought I'd replied to this but I'd hit 'post' and it had timed out. I'm pretty pleased with them and although they're bigger than I expected I'm now liking the idea of gaming interiors. I've started painting up one of the smaller buildings as Leo Sawyer's barber shop. I'm happy with how it's turning out. I wonder if it could count as a Painting Posse entry?  :D

Who makes Old Tom? I have been hunting ranges for some time today but can't find him. :'(

Hi Poiter, he's an Artizan Thrilling Tales figure:

It's a lovely figure to paint. He can be bought on his own or in a pack a slightly reduced Price.

Ah, thank you, I see an Artizan order coming on. Their U-boat crew look useful for a scenario in the latest TFL Special.
Cheers,

I dug my toy train out of the attic. This is what I'm intending to use. It's a pretty short train with only one passenger coach but it's largely an aesthetic piece with some scenario links likely. I have O gauge track instead of the plastic stuff it comes with.

Not a great photo even though it was taken in daylight! I picked up a couple of aquarium rocks from 'Pets at Home' yesterday as they had a clearance sale on. These were supposed to be £2 each but when I checked the receipt later I was charged £1 each. I only bought two as the upright piece makes them very prominent, but they look good. I also got a large Buddha's head for £8 reduced from £13. It's a popular wargames one.

There's a lot to take out of it first. I'd also like to extend the coach ends to take a figure base but this might not look right and it might be a pain to do. Did you prime yours with anything in particular? I was just going to use cheap car body primer.

It's a shame they didn't have any decent larger ones. The big ones all looked wrong for the intended purpose (and we're a lot more expensive).

Nice choo-choo Steve.

I saw a Christmas version at a friends house, and I was shocked to discover how poorly it stuck to the rails. It jumped off at every chance. (A realistic narrow gauge iron horse I guess lol ) how's yours go round the track? I'm considering whether to leave the motor in or not (everyone likes a train set right?)

Dem rocks look right purty.

Cheers
Matt

Thanks Matt. I'm half tempted to keep it working and surprise players as it suddenly hurtles towards town! I can't make my mind up on colour; black, yellow or red I'm thinking.

My first building is more or less done, other than some internal work. The barbershop of Leo Sawyer, womanizer and gambler is now open for business. The original building is shown below.

Splendid work. You've made the basic model look great. :)
