An idea for a future project. (Generic modern soldiers.)
« on: December 26, 2013, 07:40:18 PM »
Hello people.

I would like to just pitch and idea that came to my head to see if anyone was interested. The idea would simply be for a pick and mix modern solider. You would simply pick a genetic modern solider body (Ever with body armor or without) which would be unarmed. You would then have a choice of weapons and heads.

So say you could order a pack of No body armor, CG634 helmet and AK47  another example would be Body aroumed, SPECTRA helmet and M16 rifle.

This is just an idea but thought I would ask what people think.

All the best Jerwood.

I would be interested, could be useful for near future/sci fi or even irregular warfare.

I've long thought this would be a great idea so I would be interested. Eureka did something not unlike this with their SWAT figures many moons ago.

Two body variants ideally, one with chest rig, one with an H style webbing braces and pouches, useable for many western style armies. You could even make the pouches 'plug n play' if you were clever about the sculpting.

Weapons with attached hands so they can be slotted into sockets on arms. AKM, M16, Galil, FN FAL. Plenty of all those still doing service. Kevlar pots, Soviet M60 helmets, bush hats and berets and you could cover a lot of armies for the price of a few dollies and some weapon and head variants.

Actually I'd really love to see this idea applied to the 1960s. Basic figure in US style fatigues, US helmet, bush hat or beret and a choice of weapons. M1 Garand, FAL, G3, etc. could cover most Latin American armies in one fell swoop, not to mention ARVN and. Host of NATO allies.

1/72 or 28mm? If you make it 1/72 you will officially be man of the year 2014.

Not that it isn't a good idea, but hasn't it already sort of been done by Hasslefree minuatures?

Good point, I'm planning to use them, with some further weapons and head swaps as my BOPE teams.

I think he's talking about these guys:

If that's true, that would be a project that I would like to see!
