Holy crap...4 months since an update! Time for a new one. I rebased and reworked three old paintjobs to make them fit in with my Cyberpunk models and I painted the first of my Games & Gears battle boards:
The Major
A paintjob I did about 5 years ago. He was already in NMM, so didn't have to rework him. Rebased him and done!
Cyberchick
Extremely fitting for 80s Cyberpunk and a great old Werner Klocke sculpt for Excalibur's excellent Fearless game (I think she's called Thelma). Her outfit of course is really silly, but fits the theme well. I like how she's all chromed up. I had to redo the metallics and made the green and skin color a bit softer in tone.
Cyborg
Ancient paintjob...I think I painted him around 2000. He was in the big box of Trinity: Battleground. Awesome box to get if you can find it cheap. It has some cool miniatures, great scenery and the game itself is interesting (although a bit difficult). I redid all the metallics (which was a lot!) and rebased him. Didn't adjust anything else for old times sake. Cool Cyberpunk model and he will fit in well with the rest as a cybered and drugged killing machine.
Battle Board tile 1I received the Battle Boards back in June. What a TERRIBLE Kickstarter and what a TERRIBLE company. Nothing but lies, smoke and mirrors and utter bullshit by them...but at least I have my boards. But still: I'm not ever going to buy anything from them. Ever.
The boards themselves are okay for 60GBP, but need a lot of work. Only the roads are painted, but the sidewalks are just bare plastic. So I had to mask the roads, prime the sidewalks (with a sand color) and paint the small brick pattern with dark brown. I then sprayed Modelmates Weathering Sprays over it, rubbed most off and then applied some drybrushes. Last step which needs to be done is to add some varnish to protect it all.
All in all, I'm happy with the boards but they need a lot of work (for a product which was supposed to be painted...). Three more to go to build a full table.
I'm staying with Cyberpunk now for the coming time, so expect more updates in the coming months!
