Update – Cyberspace and indoor gaming tiles

A terrain related update. I finally finished my Cyberspace gaming tiles for Cyberspace gaming. I printed the designs, glued them to black foamcore and cut them. Easypeasy and I’m happy I’ve finished the product.

Next up are the first half of my Pwork gaming tiles. I wanted to have some tiles for indoor games. Although I have Space Hulk, DOOM, Sedition Wars and some AT-43 tiles I don’t think they are perfect for Cyberpunk sci-fi games. Space Hulk is too gothic and gloomy, DOOM is too bloody, Sedition Wars is unwieldy and AT-43 is too vague. So time to do something else. Pwork sells nice floorplans. I bought them, printed them and also glued them on black foamcore and cut them. The ones in the photos are half of what I’ve got, I only need to cut the second half of the foamcore pieces.

I’m happy with how these have turned out. Two evenings work and enough options for many games. Next Friday I have a Cyberpunk session, so time to try them out!
I’m only doubting whether to add magnets to the foamcore to make it a rigid layout which won’t slide apart at the slightest bump.
And of course the table layout needs a lot of furniture. And I want to get some random acryllic cuts for CYberspace. THat will be the hardest part. Random acryllic things that seem electronic or digital in design, but still a bit vague in design. Think of them as cyberspace furniture.

I know you liked the clear figures for your Cyberspace avatars. Some new Heroclix ones lately

You mean the skips? These were painted as follows:

Basecoat: Foundation Iyanden Darksun
Grimy shade: Citadel Typhus Corrosion (awesome stuff...just splash it on near the ridges and then use a moist brush to move it around)
Take some blister foam.
Rust 1: Vallejo Chocolate stippled on with the blister foam
Rust 2: Citadel Vermin Fur stippled on with the blister foam
Rust 3: Citadel Leprous Brown stippled on with the blister foam

The red ones follow a similar formula, but use Citadel Foundation Mecharite Red as basecoat, highlighted to Italeri Flat Red.

You mean the blueish skips?
Basecoat with Citadel Foundation Fenris Grey
Shade with P3 Coal Black + Citadel Lahmian Medium
Take some blister foam
Take P3 Frostbite and stipple it on, but mostly swipe it across to get an effect that fits more with plastic than metal.

@Puuka: Thanks! I'll remind myself to get get them someday.

Oh those! They were easy. I printed several PDFs from Mel Ebbles and Tommygun and cut them out with an Exacto blade. Then fold and glue them and voila...a box! Next step was to crumple them with fingers and darken the edges (which are white). I took Modelmates Track Dirt (pure gold in a bottle!!!) and then touched up the edges and splotched it here and there on the boxes. I cleaned my brush and then stippled the damp brush over the boxes. This will reliquify some of the Track Dirt again and you can do some easy blending and smudging. Easy to do and it works well.

Tommygun's website is down at the moment...hope it comes back up again soon!

Malebolgia,

Have you thought about adding some old run down brownstones to go along with your modern stuff?  Some of the MDF city scenics out there look pretty good

Jup. I have bought some of the Sentry City stuff and they will be an old part of town. And I have several of the Ziterdes appartment blocks which fit right in. Speaking of de-modernising...I have 3 of the MAS District 5 buildings which were intended for this project but now will be sold. Too modern and they don't exactly fit in.

What buildings do you have?  Although the shipping from Europe to the US might be a little much.

What, this:

Your connection is not private

Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.genetmodels.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID

I didn't worry about it, since I wasn't entering any password or financial info, and the downloaded pdf's were scanned by antivirus.  It's just not a secure site.  If you enter the link as "http" instead of "https" the warning doesn't show up.
