Their ssl cert expired on 20/02/2016

They probably forgot to renew/replace it.

Happens more often than you imagine.

I don't know how active the site is, but it may simply be they have not been online to notice, you get email notifications from your ssl provider months and usually 7 days before expiry, but still can be missed.

Anyhow...back to Cyberpunk (although SSL, certificates and security sure is fitting for Cyberpunk :))

I've just finished the first version of my Cyberspace map. Basically, it's a world map with Cyberspace hubs around the globe. In the Cyberpunk game the miniatures can access jack-points where their hackers can jack into Cyberspace (this requires way too much data transfer to do wireless and teams prefer to hack in on-site to circumvent a lot of security). The hackers will then jump into an access point in Cyberspace (one of the black spaces). They can then hack hubs and move through Cyberspace...but this takes up RAM. The more points you access and control, the more it will ask of your cyberdeck. So hence the RAM Resources tracker. You will plot a route through Cyberspace to get to the juicy data. You can also place firewalls to strenthen hacked hubs, you can attack the route of an enemy hacker (making jacking out a risky move!), you can attack enemy hackers, you WILL be attacked by ICE (both the hacker and the controlled hubs).
Basically it's a side game, but not really a miniatures version. It's a board game to place next to the playing area and once the hackers are jacked in and activate, you will place counters and a model or two. But it's way more abstract than the miniatures game. And yes, it's WAY DIFFERENT from my first idea of Cyberspace.
The physical idea never really worked out well in my head and this feels better.

The map:

The idea is to get it printed on a 23.5"x28" neoprene mat (mouse mat material) at Printer Studio:
http://www.printerstudio.com/unique-ideas/playmat-23_5x28.html

Cyberpunk Event Card deck

I also finished a Cyberpunk Event Card deck, with 27 different events to be used during the game. The cards also incorporate the ICE for Cyberpace and Cyberdecks for Hackers. I got it printed at Printer Studio (thanks again RobH for the headsup on the sale 8)).

Next up...more rules to write, more stuff to paint...

Mal,

You cyberspace board looks pretty sweet.  It reminds me of the first layer of the Uplink computer game.

I look forward to your beta rules.

And time for a new update. Although not a huge one, this one cost me more time than I anticipated.
I did some street lights some time ago, but the Games & Gears board I have also involves some crossings and a T-junction. So the city really needed some traffic lights!
I searched a looooooong time and in the end I found "JTT Microscale" who had some interesting styrene traffic lights. I asked them, but unfortunately shipping was absurd. Doh...a week later I strolled into my local hobby shop and found the exact traffic lights I wanted! What the heck? Turns out they occasionally order from JTT for architecture students. Lucky me! Bought two packages and sat down to some hobbying.
I wanted to have small traffic lights for the pedestrians and the large lights for cars. The styrene stuff came with enough traffic light components to do this, awesome. As with the street lights, I used Mantic's Deadzone stuff to make the lower side of both type of traffic lights. For the small lights I took the triple fuel drum part (link: https://manticblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/individual-accessory-sprue.jpg) and sawed it into three drums. I glued some styrene rod on top and glued the traffic light to it. I then glued it on top of a 30mm metal washer and done!
For the big one I took the Deadzone objective crate (http://www.manticgames.com/ImageCache/Products/3184.1.600.600.FFFFFF.0.jpeg) and glued the traffic light on top of it. I attached one traffic light to the high part (for the cars) and one to the lower side (for the pedestrians). Done!
Next up...painting. Straight forward and done in the same way as the street lights I did.

Small traffic lights

Big traffic lights

Next up will be some more buildings or cars...haven't decided yet!

Awesome project! :o Sorry I'm late to the party! The new traffic lights add a lot of character! Looking through your thread you mention you were struggling for buildings, did you ever find a solution? I ask because I'm struggling with my own sci-fi city and I'm looking for help. Any manufacturers I've found doing sci-fi buildings don't do anything I'm wanting! :?

Thanks man!
One of the sources of inspiration is..your MC5 project :D. It really is. You gave the tip about using lead wire for wiring and I love the way you incorporate detail into your scenery projects. So I will be using stuff from your topic in my next MDF building!
For style I'm going for a mix of old and new. For the old buildings I will be using hard foam buildings by Ziterdes, which will be pimped with lead wire, AC units, screens and other things to make them more modern than 30s buildings. It's these:

http://www.ziterdes.de/ziterdes/en/produkte/article_detail.php?we_objectID=853365&catID=64&subcatID=67
http://www.ziterdes.de/ziterdes/en/produkte/article_detail.php?we_objectID=1342697&catID=64&subcatID=67
http://www.ziterdes.de/ziterdes/en/produkte/article_detail.php?we_objectID=3740405&catID=64&subcatID=67
http://www.ziterdes.de/ziterdes/en/produkte/article_detail.php?we_objectID=3709586&catID=64&subcatID=67

And of course the Art Deco buildings by Knights of Dice:
http://www.knightsofdice.com/store/
(if you are in the UK you can get them here: https://shinygames.uk/knights-of-dice-scenery-in-the-uk/)

One of the next buildings in my lineup is a Knights of Dice building. Gorgeous HDF. But it needs a lot of work to be pimped to get it the way I want it to be. Will take time...

For the new-style buildings I now have two Micro Art Studios buildings finished (the guard tower and garage) but for now I want to keep it at that. They just don't fit in well enough. I do have the Food Booth, medical clinic and two other buildings on my way. I like these more. And I hope this will give me a good mix of old and new. But once I get more stuff done I have to see how it all goes together.

Your set-up looks and sounds better every day. Still very curious to see how the hacking stuff ends up playing out. If you ever need a NL based person to test it against give me a shout, I'd be happy to make the trip up to Groningen.

New Clix set, new "Cyber" figures.

These might be a little harder to find/more expensive

Looking for a set of rules that adaptable for different genres.

Thanks for the links buddy! I do love that Knights of Dice stuff. I'm sure when your finished with the Ziterdez buildings it'll be great! Very Blade Runner.

UPDATE! Knights of Dice building

Time for an update and this one took me lots of hours of work. It's one of the Knights of Dice buildings, I think the best MDF buildings you can get. Nobody beats them in design, cutting and looks. Assembly was a breeze...but it took me some time to think it all through. The building involves a lot of windows, and I wanted to have something behind them (I didn't want open windows staring into an empty building!). So I decided to place painted card behind them. But that meant I had to first paint the building, then do the windows and glue them and finally glue the building to the ground piece.
But before I started painting it was time to pimp the building and make it a bit more Cyberpunk. So I added two ads (from BP Laser), one added by cutting the MDF so I can slide it on top of the building and the other by using some magnets. I connected some soldering wire and plastic tubing to them with two Antenociti touch pads, so somebody can change the ads if they want. Also, a Pulp Alley power box was added. On the back is an AC unit, also with cables and touch pad. An old toy ladder was perfect in size as the escape ladder. Yes, it's actually too big, but it is what it is. Two Pulp Alley rainpipes were connected to form a single rainpipe (with a hole in the building, so the rain can run into the pipe). On top I added a Pulp Alley trapdoor, perfect to get on top. On the front and on the sides I added more touch pads, but now to gain entry to the building itself.
For painting I simply sprayed them Montana Brick Red which was then heavily washed with brown and black. After this I applied several drybrushes, by adding grey and bone to a dark red to get a pinkish color. I varied it in tone to get a grungy effect. The window frames were quickly painted with a medium brown and were drybrushed by adding grey to the brown. Same goes for the side doors, but I also added more brown to them. The gold parts were painted with gold, which was heavily shaded with varying brown and some green colors. I really wanted to get the shine down and make them dull as hell. The roof was done with a greyish brown and once again I added more and more light grey for drybrushing.
Then it was time for...magic! Once again, Modelmates Track Dirt is the star. So much fun. Just apply it like a madman, don't think too much and don't be careful. Do not be careful! Then take a wet brush and blend the stuff around. So easy and so much fun. And the effect is insanely cool. Really, buy that stuff.
Rust was added to several places with dry pigments or with paints, all of the touch pads were painted and it was time for the cool details. I printed loads of posters on A4 stickers, cut these with a scalpel and simply stuck them on. Then with my finger (or a rubber tip shaper) I erased some of the ink to make them more old. Then once again some Track Dirt and voila...dirty posters. For the graffiti I used three laser cut decals and I also did several with a permanent marker. Why use paint, when you can do it with a marker eh :)
The windows were all airbrushed with white, yellow and light brown. Initially I intended some of the windows to be black to simulate the lights were off...but I simply forgot. I also thought about adding some silhouettes...but I also forgot! Doh! Once I stuck the clear packing tape over them I remembered, but it was too late. I glued them on the inside of the building.
The two ads were all airbrushed. Just to get them quickly done. I had made some neon ads in InDesign, cut them from paper with a scalpel and glued them on.
Finally the ground plate. I sprayed this with a tan Montana can and then applied some sprays with Modelmate brown spray. I rubbed some of it off and then drybrushed it twice with a khaki color (second time with bone added). Finally some more grime with...Track Dirt!
I also printed some newspapers. So I cut them with a scalpel, drenched them in Vallejo Matt Varnish and simply placed them here and there on the building.
And finally...I glued the building to the ground plate. DONE!!

Damn, loads of work but I am very happy with it. And finally a big, high building for my table. I'm so glad this one's done and I'm looking forwards to the next building for this table!

Loads of work, you can say that again! But well worth it, and KoD might be the best MDF out there, but it's your attention to detail that truly makes this look like a great building.

Love the weathering!
Well worth going the extra mile.

I agree with your comments on the Modelmates range, excellent stuff, although I have not used it on a building yet, just cars.
Now I really need to try that idea out.... :D
