Just had 4 days of gaming back in the Soudan ..5 great games played , many laughs .

So a few Pics from the Khartoum assault - my figures, Egyptians and Mahdists  , friend Steve’s terrain and other imperials

Using Sands of Sudan with all my tweaks - to add more tension and some simplicity

The best part of the hobby - the synchronicity of friend's pooling resources to realize good looking and memorable games and, hopefully, tales to tell for long years afterwards.  Well, at least until the next epic game.

With that bunch I guarantee there will be tales to tell! If nothing else, in the Khartoum Enquirer! Though, most stories involving Lord Grey will likely not be safe for women or children.

It’s been a while and it is time for a last run out .

The Egyptian army had to quell a rebellion - what could go wrong ?

This will be the last run out of this collection as I have made decision to have a major thin out to enable me to progress onto new projects . Some parts will indeed be kept and redeployed to the Hindu Kush and the NWF .The rest will be available via Colonel Bills in due course .

Building this collection over the last 11 years (most of it completed by 2017) has been a real joy over the years - and I must admit the building of these is the real joy for me . It has figures from every manufacturer who has done Sudan stuff. It has conversions and scratch built stuff too. I have played all the huge games it was designed for , shared it at various UK shows as well as taken it to a major  film studios to use in a HBO documentary. It’s time to release it into the wild .

Fantastic to see a final battle though I am not sure that generally ever went well for the Egyptians. An inspirational collection that will make many, many people happy.

They always got the worst of it- it just shows how is it essential for 19th Century rules to have a huge emphasis on command and control. This goes for all eras of course, but I think especially in the 19th CE
