I am within the uk anyway so that's not a problem. Just have most of my rulebooks on my iPad so it's convenient. Will pick up a copy either way.

Thanks, Carlos  :D

There is also the new digital product directive in the EU. If you sell a digital book to a person in say Austria you must charge them the VAT rate for that country and pay the Revenue service in that country.

So if we sell 200 books to 25 different EU countries we must find out where each customer is from, find out the VAT rate for that country and send the VAT to each country's government.

A law aimed at foiling tax avoidance and money laundering may kill small scale digital products and companies. >:(

Yeah that seems like a lot of work.

I think it is nearly impossible with the men-power of a small company find out all the goverment tax office and their bank accounts. So, no more digital or you have to use wargamesvault. Brave new european world.... :-[

Unfortunately no. Being first timers in the publishing industry we did not realise how long layout took so the printers shall be delivering the first print run to North Star in May.

There shall be copies of the rules to peruse though at the participation game.

That's a shame but understandable bet publishing this yourself has been a learning experence. Will pop buy and say hello with the misses and have a browse through anyway if I get a chance.

Painting up some Samurai stuff atm and once that is done I might try to set up a participation games with some other guys at the LFGS for Daisho and Ronin so we can learn the rules.

Samurai vs Bandits for Ronin and Sohei vs Oni for Daisho sounds good.

So here we are, the end of May and still no Daisho. Who knew that layout could be so complex? Well, obviously not us it seems. :o

The plan now is to have the completed copy off to the printers this coming weekend. With a 2-3 week turnaround for printing and delivery, North Star should then have the books before the end of June – 2015 :)

If you can stand a little more bad news I have had to cancel my appearance at Partizan on Sunday. A family matter has arisen which means that I cannot attend.

I am now waiting for the third disaster…. :-[

Ladies & Gentlemen,
It is with great pleasure that we can announce that Daishō is now in the care of our printers in Lithuania. With luck and a fair wind, this means that the first delivery of Daishō should arrive with the splendid crew at North Star Miniatures in just three weeks’ time.
So now is time for you to dive into your lead mountains and dig out those samurai, ronin, monks and ninja figures. Dust them off and get some paint on them because the game you have been waiting for is almost here.

Here is the blurb from the back cover of the book:
Have you ever wanted to replicate the incredible feats of swordsmanship you see in movies like 47 Ronin and 13 Assassins? Stand surrounded by half a dozen angry Ashigaru and then, in a single fluid motion, strike them all down?
Bring forth fiery darts from heaven and hurl them at your enemies? Face demons from the pits of hell? Disarm and hammer an arrogant Samurai lord into the dust with your bare hands?
You can do this and much more if you play Daishō, skirmish wargaming in mythical Nippon.
This game allows players to field forces of five to fifteen miniatures in a game you can easily complete in an evening on a space only a yard square. The rules are short and simple to learn – few players need to refer to them after their second or third game.
This book provides:
• The core rules of play.
• The complete points system so you can create your own forces.
• Full listings for twelve unique forces.
• Armour, weapons and equipment, both mundane and magical.
• Listings of skills, heroic ki powers and magical powers.
• Fifteen scenarios, supported by seventeen scenario complications.
• Ten detailed landscapes for you to play across, and
• Simple, yet rewarding campaign rules.

Hopefully I get my Koreans done by then.

I realise this is going to be highly subjective depending on how you build the characters but how many samurai / ashigaru do you think an Oni would be worth points wise.

As I would like to paint up an Oni force too as thru are quick to paint but unsure of roughly how many I would require.
