Silly question about the Brodie helmet...
« on: 31 May 2014, 01:04:02 AM »
....when it was not being worn on the head, whereabouts on a soldiers kit would it be stored?

Hanging from belt, webbing, somewhere else...?

I know it sounds strange but I want the figure that I am working on to look 'right' as he will not be wearing it, but it needs to be visible on the model somewhere.

In the British Army it was stowed on the larger type of back pack, using the additional straps on the pack to hold it in place: http://www.kokodahistorical.com.au/index/index.php/history/kokoda-historical-collection.

On the 'small pack' I don't know but I imagine it was a similar arrangement:

It might be hung temporarily on the bayonet hilt perhaps, although it wouldn't be very secure there if any movement was involved.

I was hoping that you may spot this question.

On the 'small pack' I don't know but I imagine it was a similar arrangement:

That seems the right option for what I am looking for.

Thank you very much.

Again.

You're welcome.  :)

I'm not quite the 'clever know-it-all' though, it's just that people ask questions that pique my own interests and then I have to go and find out for myself... you just seem to have the knack of asking those sort of questions and I've just managed to answer them so far.

:D
