Don't worry Eric - you're not the only one! This was my 3rd attempt to get a list out of them (I never got any response to the other emails). Apparently the only packs they have photographed are the ones they list on eBay - and we can add to the the pictures of civilians and casualties that Phil posts in his blog at the start of the thread.

I'm tempted to but a couple of packs sight unseen (The female warriors in particular); but given the variability in the range I don't really want to end up with what could be shockingly bad figures!

i'm just like you :
not sure of the quality of all the references.

In the same way, i found a Foundry pack at Crisis that wasn't listed in their civilians range. Roman ambassador !
A good and original one but unknown to every one, unless you find it in they (disordered) stand in a wargame show....

Strange isn't it  ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

or quite normal for the new Foundry  :? :?

That Roman Ambassador pack sounds promising!

As an update, Foundry are supposed to be sorting out some pictures of the contents of the rest of the Dark Age German packs...

Thanks for that :)

I've been sent a word doc with pictures of the other figure codes in their blister packs. At some point soon, I'll collate all tghe pictures into one easy reference document/post - but for now it's attatched...

Thank you for posting the pictures. How do these compare in size to the standard Saxons & Franks that Foundry sells?

Slightly taller than the old ones but in a unit i think you can mix them.
I will try to take a comparison photo and then post it.

They appear to be Copplestone dollies that someone else has titivated with Green Stuff to produce a range of variant figures.
Foundry went through a brief phase of doing this with a number of ranges... Rather successfully with the Zulus based on Copplestone's Darkest Africa figures. Less successfully perhaps with their adaptations of Mike Owen's sea dog figures. Some of which look okay, and some of which look peculiar...

Ooops. Just noticed, this was already pointed out earlier in this thread...  ::)
A lot of them look to be Copplestone sculpts that have been altered.

The main question going through my mind is "Why would one wish to purchase these when the Musketeer Goths and Saxons are about to be re-released AND Gripping Beast still do their old German barbarian range???"  ??? ??? ??? (scratches head in a bemused fashion....) Those alternatives are all way better (and probably a fair bit cheaper) than these Foundry ones...

Judging by those pics, the only ones worth considering are the Franks. The others...hmmmm.....

That's right.

Why going into the steps of someone who has a better range than your's ?
Or redone your own range ? (Franks are already in the Foundry)
that' s the questions.

Musketeer and Gripping Beast don't really make Franks - and personally I don't care for Gripping Beast's older ranges. And because I use DBx basing I prefer more static poses. The one standing pack the Foundry sells (FS3) is very imited in variety. I think 519 and 520 look pretty good, and might mix well with Musketeer's Saxons.
