Old Warzone and Resurrection mixed armies ?

Hi,

Do you know some links for mixed Warzone armies (or batreps mixing old and new figs) ? I didn't find any, except the old ones from the crowdfunding campaign (showing hussards or undead legionnaires).

I already have a big classic Warzone collection, and still love a lot of these figs, some other ones, not so much.

On the new warzone range, I also like some minis, and not like other ones. Perhaps there is a "middle line" where best old figures and most classic new ones could be mix together.

I mix my Dark Legion; I just LOVE the old Necromutants, Razides, Nepharites (especially Golgotha) and Praetorian Stalkers. And IMO they mix well with the new models. More chunky, but the height matches up perfectly.

Funny you name these minis, I was thinking of them too especially !

I also like Algeroth nepharites, even I just modified them a bit (thinner horns, and new thinner noses), and the undead legionnaries.

Tonight searching for pics I came back on Agis wonderfull classic warzone page :

I really like these old minis. That's some kind of personaly nostalgy, like ralpartha or 40K v2  classics are for some other hobbists  ...Nothing rationnal.


Maybe the solution would be finding the classic references missing in my collection.

I especially like your necromutants and razides. These are immediate classics 

I'm not sure I have this 2nd necromutant (the one in the middle of the 3 necromutants group). Is it a 2d edition one 


I think I made my choice. I'll keep the classic metal minis. And probably strip paint on my old painted warzone.

i haven't painted many of the new ones,imho they mix well with the old ones,they have pretty much the same Proportions as the Plastic Miniatures from 2nd Edition

@sundayhero: the Necormutant is from the old metal 'Mutant Chronicles' (pre-Warzone) range. I found it on eBay and it came with an Undead Legionary with Plasma Carbine. Odd mix, but both are great sculpts!

Dr, thanks for the pics, it's what I was looking for! As you said, they mix pretty well, some new more bulky/heavy armoured sculpts than the mishima or bahaus ones would be even nicer mixed.

I will first make some classification in the minis I already have, and painted.

In my own collection, I use all sorts of old Warzone Models alongside new ones. Some really don't work, but others are perfect. The first Razide Shown in this topic actually matches up with our ones perfectly! We have also resculpted that Nepharite to be much more detailed and it will hopefully come out in the next few months!

I also find that the old Dark Legion are some of the ones that has managed to retain their appeal the most. In our group we play with mixed figures. We all think that Prodos has done a brilliant job, but use some of the old minis because of their charm.

It must be said though, there was a lot of quite horrid models in the old line.

Never saw that one before, great find! The mix corresponds to a coloured page with illustrations of the two in the MC RPG book.
