You scared me with that headline! I though there'd been a sale and I'd missed it!  lol

Great work! Those look really good with the washes added. I think you mentioned these were dipped, is that correct?

Thanks Fram!  Nope.  No dip.  Triads and water based ink washes.  Bought some "Matte" clear coat.  Liars!  I have some ACTUAL matte clear on the way though...

I had many trials and tribulations with finding a good matt coat. Trust me when I say that the best I found is Daler-Rowney, by far, but you have to order it from the UK.

Thanks Dave!  Looking forward to applying a little P.A. to these guys!

Fram, have you tried the Krylon matte clearcoat?

No, but I only use brush-on matt coats myself.

Gary.... I am speechless. You have surpassed yourself old friend.  :o :o :o

Those are some truly beautiful paintjobs.

I'm pretty sure we can get the Daler Rowney Soluble Matte Varnish that Fram likes at 'Deserres', right next door to Central Hobbies out on Grandview Highway. Next time you are in town.

Thanks Peabs!  That woukd be great!

Fram, I use water based inks which bleed through if you put another colour on top.  It can be a great effect which I use often but if I brush on the varnish...Yikes!  mini destroying smearage.  A spray seals the inks to allow me to paint over top without bleed.  Final protection coat too, of course.
