Love the ships...never liked those particular hex mats though ---- prefer thin line hexes.  The dots have always distracted me (and yeah I've played on lots of those damn mats!)  :D

Ships look fantastic.

Very nice looking ships.

Are they the same as in the Mecha Colle kits?

Thank you everyone for the kind words! Regarding the two Garmilas DDs, they come with the Garmilas dreadnought in a set along with a 1/144 scale Garmilas tank:

They're slightly longer than the Mecha Colle Garmillas Warship (heavy cruiser) model, and a bit wider, but not so much that they won't work as a large escort class ship in a space fighter game such as Silent Death: The Next Millennium. The key difference between the Mecha Colle ships and their 1/1000 scale sisters is that the 1/1000 scale ship set models are all being made to a constant scale, while the Mecha Colle kits are all over the map scale wise, as they are "box scale" models as in the model is designed to fit the box (and "scaled" out accordingly).

BTW, the Mecha Colle models just added two new ships coming on the horizon, and with the dollar to yen conversion rate being what it is, these are very good value for the money:

Hope this helps! 8)

Yes, I know this. I got a bunch of them because the price point was frankly unbeatable, but I haven't really done anything with them so far.

I used to play Silent Death quite a bit back in the 1st edition days and I still have a big bunch of the ships somewhere.

I think I need another set of rules... I don't want to play anything with hexes and in general I no longer go for games with SD's level of detail.

Besides I don't think the 1st edition even had rules for larger ships.

But anyway the idea of doing mostly a fighter game and having the larger ships as centerpieces is pure gold!

On the Mecha Colle front, yes I was aware the models are non-scaled, but I was thinking of grouping them into groups of similar sized ships (e.g. destroyers) and maybe getting a larger kit for a couple of cruisers or a battleship.

Now, where to get tiny Cosmo Zeros?
