I too am hoping for some new stuff on the DA front...a man can dream

...well, you can always pop over to my blog for a peak at my variant for Studio Tomahawks Muskets & Tomahawks...aka Rifles & Spears...and get a skin full...

It's non pulp Colonial mass skirmish gaming in the style of 'Last of the Mohicans'...
"Last of the Masai"...  :D

Whilst not 'official' it gives a pretty solid and very good game...not pulp Congo...much more 'Zulu' and 'Khartoum'  ;)

It looks quite good, doesn't it.

I think I remember something about a Salute release..  :?

Can anybody confirm if this will be available at Salute and whether it is on preorder?

I'd like to know, too...other than people hoping it will be available at Salute I've not seen any release dates anywhere. That the  recent preview in April's WI doesn't mention a Salute release and just has a vague 'I look forward to seeing the final version' makes me think this is still a little way off.

I'm looking forward to this. Even more than the Men Who Would Be Kings to be honest. And that's even though I hardly play anything but Lion Rampant and Dragon Rampant.  :)

Like all the Studio Tomahawk games, this game will be in French and English version. So, even if one version is finished, the Studio needs time to translate it in English language... ;)

I see Foundry have said that there will be a CONGO demo on their stand at salute. Looks like the tie in hinted at in the wargames illustrated article will be with them.

Makes sense as they have (currently) the most extensive darkest Africa range available.

I was at Foundry last Saturday and they told me they will be selling starter sets for Congo once it's out, a bit like Gripping Beast do for Saga warbands I guess.

I don't suppose that you asked them if will they be discounted?

Sounds good. It'll be a good way of getting a gameable force together for the rules without the odd figures left over.  ;)

I didn't ask, but my guess is that while there will be no discount per figure, they will save you money by having exactly what you need rather than leaving you with excess figures.

Thanks..... probably better to pre order for a show as the packs are £10 when they do shows so one would think that the DA Congo packs would be cheaper too.
